Tolano Riftguard is one of the five heroes of "How the Leviathans got their Colors." Tolano spent much time at the bottom of the Great Rift talking to the Kraken and telling him tales of the surface world. What was originally a price to be paid developed into a deep friendship. Tolano became well-known to those who travelled over the Great Rift. He would ask for stories of what they had seen and offered protection while they were in the area in return.
