It is a brisk, winter morning. You are making your daily trek to your keep, leisurely enjoying the white lines of light trickling through the pines. A direwolf trots loyally at your side. His body tenses, and your eyes catch the quick rotation of his ears before witnessing him stop midstride. Then, you hear it. The sound of manticore wings cutting through the chilled wind, yet you fail to see them. The sound grows louder, until a large, glistening direwolf emerges from the evergreen. Nay, not a direwolf... for folding behind it are two large, iridescently pink wings. He stops his stride, and from behind him, a smaller, non-maned female gracefully appears. She locks her ruby eyes on your wolf, who whines a bit with uncertainty as he sniffs the air. Their fur is as white as the winter snow. And, just as quickly as they arrived, they depart. Your wolf sprints towards them, growling fiercly in defense. When he returns to you, he carries something. A white, winged egg, as cold as winter.
