When he was only a teenager, Zale visited the Caves of Nareau with his uncle, Riven - a respected artificer obsessed with the lost works of Odan Galopin. Riven was a renowned lapidarist known for his exquisite pendants, rings, and brooches. He could infuse gemstones with minor artificer magic to enchant his jewelry with helpful utilities - his most prized piece was his ruby encrusted bracelet that pulsed with the comfort of his partner’s love while he was traveling.
“These caves contain the magic of the crystalwings,” Riven explained.
As the years passed, Zale cultivated his passion for lapidary, infusing it with his love for dragons and crystalwings. He took over Riven’s enchanted jewelry-making business with hopes of ushering in a new era. Alongside his draconic companions, Beryl and Painite - a pair of mated Rewin Ancients, Zale founded the Gemcrafter lineage. Together, gemdragons and crystalwings would join the family business of inspiring magical crafts in Synara City.
