Bred for strength, intelligence and ferocity by their ancient keepers, the Glacien lineage of Direwolves was renowned the world over for generations. The wolves were used for hunting and as fighting animals, and their masters were not always kind. When the noble family that kept them fell from influence, the wolves struck out on their own into the far northern wilderness, reclaiming their freedom and communion with nature. For many generations they avoided contact with humans, until only recently, when an injured male of the lineage was taken in by a kindly student. Any contact with the Glacien wolves must be carried out with mutual respect and understanding for these brave, powerful animals.
