The leviathans of the Stormwatcher family patrol the waters that magi and citizens may travel. They keep a watch for storms that could harm travelers, and warn any vessels in their area when there is a possibility of danger. These leviathans have been known to lead ships safely to port during storms, though they usually do not venture that close to land, and if the ships are not able to follow the leviathans on their own, they will call their brethren and push the vessel to safety. If a ship capsizes before they can save it, they allow the passengers to ride them to land.
Though the Stormwatchers typically stick together, occasionally they will find a Magi companion to follow into other waters. But, though they will help their Magi when needed, their primary goal always remains to patrol and protect, and their Magi must allow them to do their self imposed duty.
