The Blackling Clan is a family of coal wyrm that dates back to the time before Magi had settled in the area. During a very bitter winter a ship capsized in a storm, leaving only a young boy as a survivor. He was found by an orphaned female hatchling coal wyrm that cared for the lad, taking him through a series of underground caves that were warmed by natural hot springs. Together they learned to hunt, helping one another as they made their way south over the years from the Alasre Mountains, passed the Caves of Nareau, to where they found The Stream. By that time both had become young adults. Imagine their surprise when they found the Keep. The Keep, on the other hand, welcomed them with open arms. Finally they had both found a home.
