Rose Madder is the commercial name sometimes used to designate a paint made from the pigment Madder Lake - a traditional lake pigment, extracted from the common madder plant (Rubia tinctorum). This lineage is an homage to characters in a Stephen King book of the same name as the paint color; the name fit the rose imps so well I couldn't resist.
