When the magi opened the path to this world, young Aislinn was curious. Though she loved the land of dreams, she decided to venture out into this new world, hoping that her lover Bruadair would join her there. Bruadair was more timid, however, and did not share in Aislinnn's wanderlust; he did not follow her down the path, thinking she would come back to him. Sadly, after making her way down the path, Aislinn became bound to the waking world, and could only return to the world of dreams for brief periods of time. Bound together by love but apart by reality, they longed for each other, until Aislinn learned to reach Bruadair through her dreams. The process drained her, however, and she was only able to reach him when their longing grew strong enough to summon her from the waking world. In this way they continued their courtship. Decades later, Aislinn awoke from a dream to find herself heavy with child. The child, concieved by the lovers’ dreams, was born awake.
