Imported to The Crabbet Park Stud in 1879. Imported to Australia by Mr. Dangar of New South Wales in 1882. Francolin was purchased at Deyr in 1878 from Abd el Huseyn. Sold to Mr. Dangar with Purple Stock (bay desert bred mare). Lady Wentworth in correspondance with Mrs. A. D. D. Maclean, Fenwick Stud Victoria, refers to "a magnificent grey mare Francolin exported to New South Wales".
