Ice-Fate Stay/Night is very much an eroge. The game has multiple endings-there's a movie called Unlimited Blade Works that (I think) addresses some of the other outcomes. I haven't seen it yet, though. But yeah, eroge.
Rikki-I have to admit I'm surprised you didn't like Cowboy Bebop-that's another anime that's widely considered a classic. Why didn't you like it? Ai no Kusabi is fun, though. Which version did you watch?
Spoiler
The scene in the anime when Emiya has to build a magic circuit with Saber and there's that weird CG dragon? In the game that was a threesome between him, Rin and Saber. Kind of gross, too, actually. Needed more dudes, and two fewer girls.
Pretty ponies...

~I want to join the anime guild!~
Favorite anime? Not necessarily my actually favourite but one that I loved when I first saw it and holds a special place in my heart. And that is Dragonball Z
Least favorite anime? At the moment I'm finding Naruto tedious. I guess I'm fed up of everyon talking about it. oh and Lensman. Lensman sucked!
How did you get into anime? Started by catching the Robotech movie and gradually caught up on the old Manga VHS and by late night anime on tv and anime shows on the children's channels.
What anime are you really enjoying currently? At the moment has to be Tiger & Bunny. Surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. I'm also enjoying Inazuma Eleven and Digimon Xros and Samurai Seven.
I also bring a gift.

Atuin, that video is pretty cool-it reminds me why I got into anime. I really loved that older, hand drawn art style. I miss it sometimes.
Another present from the days of hand drawn animation:
That lovely (and copyright questionable) piece of animation came from a convention in Osaka in 1983. The animation group who made it eventually grew up to Studio Gainax. The song is pretty fun too.
About more recent anime: Episode 24 of Tiger and Bunny
Also, one fun thing this little guild could do-how about we all pick an anime we haven't seen, and watch it all in a particular time frame? Then we can discuss it, either as we watch or at the end.

Spoiler
Oh man, I really hope Tiger isn't dead. I would be somewhat impressed if they did kill him off-it would beak a lot of cliches-but c'mon, Tiger can't die! The whole show has been about how even an older person can still be helpful and relevant. Having him die would destroy that, not to mention it would be a downer ending that no amount of hopeful look to the future scenes would assuage. Have him retire if he has too, but don't kill him!
I think a fun ending would be to use some of that robot technology to fix him up with cyborg parts. Solve his declining power problem and save his life all in one fell swoop, and put that technology to good use instead of using it to kill people. I can only hope...

Ah, yeah, there's a version of the eroge game in English- it's fourteen parts to download on most sites, so that's enough to keep people away. xD;Raneth wrote:Ice-Fate Stay/Night is very much an eroge. Seems like everyone likes yaoi here. Anyone know any yaoi animes that have good art?
As for the older drawing style, I personally stay away from it. Even if the storyline is great (and I'm sure a lot of the old anime is much better than some of the stuff they produce today), the art would irk me. I like the (in my opinion) sharper, more defined lines that make the anime as a whole seem neater. But I can see what's to like in the old style, too.
Finally, I have broken free from the temptation of the spoiler!
That sounds like a great idea, I'd love to try it! Having a buddy to discuss with can completely change your individual viewing experience, so why not give it a try? As long as I have the time, I would be willing to make it a regular thing, even.Raneth wrote:Also, one fun thing this little guild could do-how about we all pick an anime we haven't seen, and watch it all in a particular time frame? Re: The Anime Guild-open!
The only yaoi I've ever seen with good art is Ikoku Irokoi Romantan (AKA A foreign love affair), a 2 episode OVA. Like most yaoi the story is nothing to write home about, but the art is good and the main characters are appealing.
I've pretty much given up on finding yaoi that has both good art and a good story. Most yaoi is 1-2 episodes, which isn't enough time to develop a good story. There are the more recent Junjo Romantica and Sekai anime, but I really dislike both the story and the art style on those. I don't like contemporary settings all that much.
So what genre of anime would you guys like to watch? We can focus on more recent anime, since those are the ones people are likely not to have seen, and of course, let's watch one that's a reasonable number of episodes-26 at most?
