I only use Chrome in school and on school computers, you just simply can't do any good work
So.. I have never done anything that meaningful on school laptops that I would have lost anything

I often use Google drive and it usually saves automatically. If I ever type up a story, I usually use Google drive to do so. Just in case something happens.

There was a time when my computer completely froze while I was doing a project. It made me really annoyed to no end. I forgot to save it also. Hopefully, you remembered what your story was about though. If I were you, I would save it every 5 minutes. I wish you the best of luck though~ ^^

I don't use Google Chrome, but I have lost things (most notably works on a dress-up game site) because of browser crashes or accidental reloads and I understand how incredibly frustrating it can be, especially when you've put a lot of time into it. My advice is if you're typing something, save it to a word processor like Word or Pages or even Google Docs before posting, that way it's in your hard drive in case something happens. Even if the processor itself crashes, there's a good chance it autosaved and will be able to recover your work.

This has never happened to me before...I would recommend using a program like Microsoft Office Word to write things in.

Sometimes My computer will randomly shut down, and i HATE it. It just... UGH! It only happens when I'm doing something important too!

I do not use Chrome, so I don't know. It never happened to me in Firefox. And when I do something important, I use a text editor (not MS Word, but Libre Office Writer) and I save often :-)
