Re: The Red String OoC
Welcome, cantthinkofausername!
Unfortunately, personalities can not be roleplayed out. It generally goes against my preferences with forms, but it's more because I need to know how the characters act so as to better set up the reveals of the roleplay. Also, perhaps you could mention a bit of her family in her history? I know you said she moved in junior year, but that doesn't tell if it was her family's decision, or if it was by her own choice. And if she left home, who does she live with now and how does she get by? Lastly, the form you submitted is incorrect. It's missing the bolds and colors from the skeleton, which I put in specifically so it would be easy for me and others to find each section of the form. There's a skeleton code in the roleplay thread, just below the rules, that you can copy and paste. If you could, would you please fix these issues for me?

Re: The Red String OoC
Assuming that Kyra will be accepted at some point, can I reserve a male slot? I'll probably edit this post with a form.

Name: Koutarou Miyasaki.
Spoiler
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance:
I'm bad with pictures of real-life people, but in case you want a picture here's one.
Koutarou has soft, straight black hair with a long fringe, swept to one side (he doesn't care which side. It changes periodically). His hair is neatly layered, and goes about halfway down his neck. Sometimes, he will clip up his bangs so he can see properly, but not too often. He has pale skin, unblemished but for a few freckles on his nose and cheeks. These aren't too noticeable, except in strong sunlight.
Kou's facial features are more feminine than most males' - he has long, slightly-narrowed gray eyes, a small, straight nose, and a slightly rounded jawline. His feminine face, however, is largely downplayed by the fact that almost every facial expression he makes is either a smirk or a scowl.
Koutarou's build is slim, and he's not overly tall. About 115 pounds, and 5'6". He is, despite not being strong-looking, rather lithe. He has long fingers, suitable for playing an instrument or drawing. He's sensitive to cold weather, so more often than not he's wearing a dark-colored jacket or a coat. He also usually wears some kind of scarf, whether it's a legitimate one for keeping his neck warm or one of the triangular fashion scarves. He usually accompanies these items with a white- or blue-colored shirt and skinny jeans, as well as gray sneakers or dark boots.
Personality:
Koutarou is generally snappy and ill-tempered. He's easily irritated, and will lash out with a harsh rebuke at people when they get on his nerves. However, he's not totally heartless - he's sensitive to each person's tolerance level, and adjusts his barbs accordingly. It's mostly just because he doesn't want to deal with people who have been pushed too far, and only a little because he cares for people.
Koutarou is quite intelligent, having attended a good school since he was small. He's not a genius by any stretch of the word, but he's smart enough to beat the average person in a game of chess. And speaking of, he quite enjoys such strategy games - Battleship, Chess, Checkers, Go, Gungi, et cetera. He's also all right with cards and such, though he fails epically at action games. He doesn't have very fast reaction times, and that much is evident in a single game. He always dies first.
He likes staying by himself, being more of an introvert - he's also quite the virgin, having never had any non-platonic relationships. In fact, romantic advances right off the bat make him uncomfortable and he tends to clam up. He much prefers friendship or reluctant acquaintance over romantic partnership, though he might open up a little bit soon. When he finds someone he likes.
Koutarou likes small animals quite a lot, and thinks they're very cute. Unfortunately, said small animals don't seem to like him. He has suffered many a scratch from kittens, and is a bit saddened by this. However, snakes and insects seem to have taken a liking to him.
In general, Kou is a very closed-up person (when he's not busy being angry). He rarely gives away information about himself, except to close friends. When talking in a group, he tends to not interject much, and only says things when someone else makes a comment that he deems stupid. He's quiet, and only keeps up his scathing comments so he doesn't seem like what he calls an empty person. His occasional condescending smirks are also something he forces just to give himself a personality. He naturally doesn't have much of one.
History:
Koutarou's history is a rather boring one, save for one event. He was born to a happy pair of parents, and also has an older sister. He attended a fine school, and grew up all right. But he always felt kind of hollow - and he was born that way. No tragic accident happened in his younger years to cause it, or anything like that. He was just someone without much of a spark.
However, when he entered his last year of junior high, he began teasing one of his classmates - a girl by the name of Kathryn Goldman. He ignored her pleas for him to stop, and continued bullying her for most of the year. To him, it was good fun, because he was somehow convincing himself that he had some kind of impact on someone. However, it was an extremely negative impact, and toward the end of the year Kathryn committed suicide.
This caused him to immediately feel overwhelming guilt over his association in her death, though she never told anyone about her being bullied. He got off scotch-free, but somehow that made it worse - he was at fault and no one ever blamed him. That was the event that caused him to somehow be able to read others better, to know their breaking point - and to never pass it.
Since no one ever knew about the incident and Koutarou wasn't straightforward enough to report himself, he kept living normally, giving no sign that he felt any remorse. He graduated junior high, went on to high school, et cetera. Nothing else has happened in his life with much impact, as he hasn't made many friends or talked to many people.
Sexual Orientation: Demisexual. (Oh, look. Another one.)
Relationships: None yet!
True Love:
Other: He really likes black coffee.

Re: The Red String OoC
Welcome, Nishinoya!
Real-life images are not necessary for characters. I am perfectly willing to accept anime images, drawings, or even no image at all. I love the detail you put into your form, and thanks so much for including a code for me as well! Koutarou-kun shall be an excellent addition. I look forward to you're inclusion in the roleplay, and thank you for joining.

Name: Alice-May "Alice" Johanson
Spoiler
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance: Alice is a small girl, just under 5'4 and maybe 100 lbs (though, aside from the tired look on her face, she looks healthy). She is extremely pale in stark contrast with her black hair (cut short and choppily, clearly done by herself with little care for how it looks) and black eyes. In fact, most of her wardrobe consists of black clothing with very little color. She has a preference for black jeans (pants or shorts, depending on the weather), black or dark grey tank tops. She wears thick black boots, or black converse for shoes, and a black hooded jacket, always, regardless of the weather. The only bit of color she ever has is a thin red ribbon tied in a bow to a strand of hair on the right side of her head, the ends dangle just below her hair line.
As stated before she is very small, she has a slim figure, a small, rounded face and almond-shaped black eyes, though they appear rounder and droopy due to dark purple rings caused by lack of sleep. She fingers are relatively long and thin, though her nails are ragged, torn and incredibly short due to a nail biting/picking habit, occasionally her nails grow out, but more often then not they're only chewed down to the quick. She also has a large burn, covering most of her left arm.
Personality: Alice is quiet and a loner. She doesn't normally enjoy the company of others. If someone brings her into a conversation she will engage, though her answers are typically short, no more than a few words. She doesn't trust people at all, and is always nervous around others, even if she doesn't show it. She sees no need for any kind of relationship, romantic, platonic, even a mild acquaintances aren't something she is fond of. She doesn't like intimacy or personal connections, she's terrified of them, though she does want to like people, she isn't willing to get close enough to them to do so. Her personality is, overall, very mellow and doesn't like making scenes or showing emotions. She can get easily irritated if the right buttons are pushed but even then it's hard to get much of a reaction out of her. She has, on occasion, snapped at a person for bothering her, though it was little more than an annoyed "Shut up!" or "stop!", before storming off to be alone ago.
She has a preference for heights, and is often found sitting in trees, or high bar stools if she's inside. She is almost always listening to music, the louder the better, and is always fidgeting with her hands or clothes, as if anxious or worried about something. She loves being outdoors, and is most comfortable in empty parks, and oddly enough cemeteries, liking the peace and quiet they provide. She spends a lot of time there actually, usually sitting by her father's grave and reading, the only time she's truly comfortable.
History: Alice, for the first eight years of her life, had a completely normal life. She lived in a nice little house (yellow, at her mother's request) with loving parents Marianne and Zachary. The neighborhood she grew up in was nice, a small suburban area, though the neighborhood nearby was far from friendly. A month into her eighth birthday, while walking home from work through one this particular neighborhood, Alice's father was shot and killed. She had always been very close to her father and his death devastated her. Even when younger Alice had always been rather shy and quiet, but she she was so close to her father his death caused her to withdraw completely. For weeks after his death she refused to speak, she never cried, not when she found out he died, not at his funeral, but she completely shut down.
Alice's mother didn't take her husband's death much better either, they had been soul mates, destined to be together, she had known that when she first laid eyes on him, and when she went to Pixie Charm and, thanks to the Rose Glass, learned that she and her husband were in fact meant to be. His death caused her to drink, heavily. She tolerated young Alice's behavior for a while before she finally snapped one day.
It had been a month after the death of Zach's death, Alice was still not talking, and had only just started eating without being forced. Marianne had been asking Alice for over an hour to clean her room, not a word or sound left Alice and she didn't move from her spot on the couch, watching cartoons as she always did. Tired of her daughter's silence the woman finally snapped, grabbing Alice by the arm hard enough to bruise, nails digging into the young girl's skin, she dragged Alice to her room, locking the door until Alice cleaned it. It was the first of many incidents that turned Alice farther and farther away from her mother.
As Alice got older, her mother drank more and more. Most of the abuse Alice suffered came from slurred insults and the occasional smack across the face, something Alice had little trouble dealing with since she spent most of her time locked in her room or out in the park nearby, however by the time Alice was thirteen her mother simply became neglectful, not bothering with her daughter, Alice became rather self reliant, shopping, cooking, and cleaning for the two of them. And things went on, relatively peacefully for the next two years.
One night Alice, fifteen, woke to the smell of smoke and the sound of fire alarms ringing in her ears. She rushed out of her room, smoke everywhere. She burned her arm while trying to find her mother, who had been drunk and passed out by the kitchen table. She managed to wake the woman up and the two of them escaped unscathed except for the burn on Alice's arm and a few smaller ones elsewhere. After calling the fire department and an ambulance, Alice spent the night in the hospital before moving into a small hotel nearby, renting out a room and working various odd jobs around the hotel to pay for it, mostly working at the front desk as a concierge. She's been living there since, with no contact with her mother. She hasn't spoken to her for the past three years, and plans on never speaking to her again. She remains her home at the hotel, and still works their weekends, the owners of the hotel are almost like family, and though she isn't particularly close to them, she does tolerate them more than most others, and doesn't mind the occasional hug from either of them.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual, even if she won't admit she likes anyone.
Relationships: None at the moment.
True Love:
Other: Currently lives in a small hotel "Asteria Inn", she lives in a small room on the top floor, and spends her entire weekends working there, the owners allow her to have the weeks off, hoping she gets more socialized, and to help with school (she's just finished High School, and has taken the year off, not sure about college yet).
Also, she only goes by Alice, no one except her mother knows her full name is "Alice-May" and she likes to keep it that way.

Name: Alice-May "Alice" Johanson
Name: Cole Jackson
Spoiler
Age: 21, just turned.
Gender: Male
Appearance: Cole is roughly 5'8/5'9 though tends to look a little taller due to being rather thin. He has long arms, his fingers are long and slim. His skin is rather tan from being outside a lot. He has sharp, angular features, although the entire right side of his face is covered by a shock of electric blue hair. Only his bangs are died, leaving the rest of his hair its natural black color. His hair is about chin length, though its shorter in the back then the front. His left eye is a bright blue, his right eye is a milky-greyish color and always hidden behind his hair.
He wears skinny jeans and a variety of tee-shirts, from solid colors to shirts with characters, or animals on them. He wears a silver, snake shaped wring on his right ring finger. He also has a strange fascination with bright, colorful socks and has an entire collection of socks, rainbows, stripes, polka dots, and every combination of the three, all different colors and styles, he has a strange preference for socks with individual toes. Not that people are usually able to see them. He tends to wear black boots, sometimes he wears sneakers though not often (the boots make him feel taller).
He has two tattoos, one is a small, purple heart outlined on the left side of his hip that he got when he was 16 to hide a birthmark he found incredibly embarrassing, the second is that of a black panther clawing its way up the right side of his back, head resting on his shoulder blade, tip of the tail resting on his mid back.
Personality: Cole is a very happy-go lucky person. He loves being around people, and is incredibly fond of parties (and drinking). He can be a bit reserved when he first meets someone, however it doesn't take very long for him to grow easy around people. He can be a little clingy, often holding onto friends' arms, surprising friends with hugs, though he doesn't do this if someone is uncomfortable with it. He's generally very laid back and easy going, he doesn't get upset very easily, he almost always has a genuine smile on his face. He doesn't hide any dark feelings and is generally very honest with people. He does, occasionally, tease people, giving half-truths, but never for long, and he's always honest in the end when a question is asked. He can be a bit of a flirt, with both guys and girls, and though he hasn't had many actual, long term, relationships, he does want one eventually.
History: He had a very normal life, nothing seriously happened to him. When he was born, to due to an infection he had, he is partially blind in his right eye (he can see basic shapes and colors, but can't make out details with it). When he was four his mother and father divorced, it wasn't a particularly friendly divorce, and due to some legal issues Cole's father gained custody, and Cole really hasn't seen or spoken to his mother since he was young (though he does get birthday cards every year from her). So far, however, the rest of his life has been pretty simple, no traumatic events, a couple of bad break ups, but nothing major. He's had a very simple, easy life. Even when he came out to his dad (age 14, about a year after trying to figure it out), his dad accepted it immediately.

Re: The Red String OoC
Hey Paddie, it's been awhile. Surprised to see you pop by, but glad for it nonetheless. And accepted! Thanks so much for joining.
And with that, I believe we have enough characters to start! Before I do that however, we have a full range of characters to choose from so is there anyone that would like a to suggest a pre-existing relationship between characters? They are not necessary, but they can also add some interesting layers to the roleplay.
I have one: Heart? Would you be interested in the idea of Cale and Raziel being flatmates/roommates?

Username: Swho
Name: Arken Sundry
Name: Arken Sundry
Spoiler
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Appearance: [might attempt drawing a picture later]
Arken has an aristocrat meets feral madman vibe to him. He is a tall lithe fellow, standing at 6"2, with windswept, reddish-brown hair that looks as if he had stood face first in a galeforce wind and it had been so strong it stayed in shape forever. Really, it's very mad scientist-esque, apart from a few sets of strands that seem to passive-aggressively flop just in visual distance of his right eye, causing Arken much aggravation. He has very big, dark, bushy eyebrows, which are a stark contrast to his bright almond shaped green eyes, though they often seem in shadow. He seems to have a pinpoint, almost unsettling focus, and he has no qualms with sustained eye contact over longer then appropriate periods of time. He has very much lost faith in social order and etiquette, after all. They're is a slight dark ring under his eyelids, showing he has perhaps had more then a few late nights in his time. His features are very prominent and defined. His nose is long and straight, his skin a subtle olive, his jawline quite definitive. His lips are pursed by nature, as if he was constantly on the verge of voicing a thought - very loudly, i might add. He has a very feminine neck, although not many people would notice such a thing, unless they had an artistic eye. His shoulders are wide-set, and yet he has very little else too him. Perhaps due to the fact he's a notoriously picky eater.
Arken's wardrobe varies wildly, from suits on casual days to t-shirts for posh dinners. He can often be caught wearing clothing that is a little baggy on him - hey, it's comfortable - or something deliberately unexpected. He can often be seen sporting an old coat, and yes, he has invested in a few hats in his time. One thing that always stays the same is his pair of comfortable shoes - nothing exciting, though one day he is wearing a run down pair and the next they look brand new. Really it wouldn't be surprising if he had ten pairs the same.
Personality: What does it mean to live? To really truly embrace life so strongly that every moment is scorched into your brain that you could close your eyes and relive every last breathtaking second? Arken is a man who feels he is running out of time. He looks around him and sees the world running out of energy. People, sullen-faced and eagerly letting themselves die and decay a second at a time. Lethargy. Self-abandonment. Hidden loathing, anger and disgust. He is in constant search for stimuli, whether external or internal, whether picking people apart or out exploring the world. He is the type to rent a hot air balloon for a day or hide books in the middle of a Moor. He acts irratically and seems impulsive to people outside of his own head - but to him, he weighs each moment heavily against that ticking clock.
Arken's brand of Impulse is a very specific type. He only indulges in experience that suit to serve him - it is very rarely he makes a habbit out of anything. In fact, the whole concept of habbit is both fascinating and terrifying to him. He seeks to purge himself of inefficient or incapacitating ideologies all across the board. And no person who he invites into his world is exempt from his constant upturning. Why do you do the things you do? What motivates you? And then, maybe, he'd pick you apart or deliberately push your buttons. After all, how can you know a person any other way? He isn't interested in the convenient surface story of relationships -whether that be friendships, lovers, or anyone else. He wants to get to the very core of any person he wants to include in his life. And often, people would consider Arken to be antisocial. He is not afraid to speak his mind. In fact, he'd rather not waste time and mess about with being anything else but being blunt and to the point. If he doesn't like you, he'll make it very clear. Not to say his opinions are always set in stone. He takes persuading - actually, he kind of enjoys it.
Arken is very mentally orientated. He has a voracious appetite for consuming information but he doesn't bother with innocuous detail. Arken is also the type to only talk when he has something to say. He doesn't do the whole, namby-pamby small-talk and how's the weather malarkey. In fact, he can be very startlingly to the point. He deliberately likes jolting people out of their illusions. No, you're not happy with your life. Not truly. I don't believe you. Stop with the bull hockey, and show me who you really are under the masks and the premise and the disguises. I will crack you open and show you the world for what it is without pretense - breathtaking, awe-inspiring, dangerous and soul-shattering.
While his lifestyle is hectic and shiny, there's not always a silver lining. Often he may have a difficult time with empathetic connections with other people and thus may not truly understand the effects of his actions - it's not something he really knows, connection. But, he is someone who lives passionately, and he is an avid learner. Perhaps, one day, he might truly come to understand the human condition, and all its subtleties.
History: Dad: an angry and abusive drunk. A very rich man. A very notable person of expanded influence. Mother: a young star-struck dreamer who followed him everywhere. Fell in love. Half his age at the time. She went from living in squalor to being waited on hand and foot, given the finest clothes and garments, the lifestyle she'd dreamed of as a little girl. Sure, he wasn't there alot. Called away on business. Few years later little Arken came along. She was happy, right? Of course she was. Had everything she could ever want. What was not to like? Oh he's away alot. Sure he gets a little lary when he's had something to drink. Really I can cover this up with makeup. You've been through worse, honey. It'd be a scandal if this got out. Just don't think and you'll be fine. Think of the baby. Nowhere to go, nothing to do. Everything’s fine.
Tick, tock, tick tock.
Mummy, why are you crying? head down on the dining room table. Seen it one too many times before. Keep smiling for the neighbors. Don't tell, Arken, we have a reputation to uphold. Cracks are forming, strength is waning. Whisked up in her arms and carried away before daddy comes home. Hears the shouting in the night.
Oh, a nanny. Mummy's still in bed. Come now, learn to love her. She'll look after you. Here today, gone the next. On, a nanny. Learn to love her. Here today, gone the next. Where is home? where is safety? Is this what love is like? Oh, a nanny. Tick, Tock, Tick Tock.
We had money, we had power. We had stories by the dozen. Neat little family wrapped in neat little lies. Good kid. No? Plays up a lot. Can't stop asking questions. Can't shut him up. Can't get him to behave or do his work. Dad will quiet him down. Is this living? Is this life? Is there really love to be had? Disconnected. Not interested. Show me what you really got.
Tick.. Tock... Tick, Tock.
Mother, come with me, mother, we're leaving. Are you even there anymore? Angry, grieving. Wrathful, leaving. Not coming back. Just looking foreward.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual but non-attached to the concept.
Relationships: hmm, I’d like Arken to have one long term friend, if anyone is interested? I really like the idea of him climbing through their window or turning up on their doorstep at ridiculous times for wierd reasons
True Love:
Other: Arken has a fascination with things of beauty. Stained glass, sculptures. He has nimble fingers and is actually pretty good at sewing and embroidary. He also likes finding hidden away run down places, and is a bit of an urban explorer. He’s a really fussy eater because he is hyper sensitive to the tastes of food.

Re: The Red String OoC
... When I saw Alice's form, I actually thought she and Kou looked kind of alike, so is there any way they could be cousins or have some other familial relations?
