The smell of Christmas wafts in through the door
The red wine bottles are popped open and are ready to be poured
Young children sit by the fire waiting eagerly for St Nicks'
While the clock above their heads go 'Tick, tock, tick'
The beautiful changing lights are hung up for display
While children outside ride on their sleighs.
The Christmas spirit is here to stay!
Right before christmas day. ♥
As I stare at the pale flickering of the candles I lit
The smell of wax drifts through the house
I turn and look at the emerald tree
Decorated in ornaments that give me glee
I hear the perpetual rhythm of the sleigh-bells
And I smile.
I woke to hear the bird's soft chirping
And stir.
I find neatly decorated gifts tight in a corner
They seem like thousands.
And I realize
That this is a moment
I shall cherish
Forever.
(I hope this shall win, I poured my heart and soul while writing it)
The sleigh with the reindeer
Led by red-nosed Rudolph
Laden with presents for every child.
The sleigh slides to a stop
On the snowy rooftop.
Santa climbs out and,
With his sack of gifts,
Shimmies down the chimney.
In the morn
The children gather,
With shrieks and cries of delight.
They open their gifts
And joy
Is spread through the house.
In his lonely home in the North Pole,
Santa smiles at the joy he knows he has gifted.
Petting a reindeer's nose,
He sips a mug
Of hot chocolate
And settles down to sleep.
Says Mother to Father,
"Look at them play,
Isn't it sweet?"
"Why yes," responds Father.
"And would you look at that!
Santa left us his red bobbled hat!"

Christmas Christmas has come around.
Children are nowhere to be found.
Not in the beds.
Not in the closets.
Where could they be?
Under the Christmas tree!
Staring at their gifts, longing to rip them apart.
But they'll just have to wait.
Until Christmas day.Spoiler
Usually I write a whole lot better,but I was put on the spot. Ehhh,it's okay-ish I suppose.
Returning after a very very long hiatus. Excited to be back!
