First Snow

"No, Rahl! That's not a plaything!" Neera ran over and detached the little noctis enox from her friend Dagger's robes. "Dagger is a person." The little enox stared up at her with unblinking violet eyes. Neera sighed and set him down. Almost immediately, her crystalwing, Cypher, glided to her shoulder. Dagger laughed and shook his head. "Well, Neera, about ready to go for a walk?"

Neera nodded and opened the door. Rahl bolted outside, stretching his little black wings. "Rahl! Come back!" Neera ran after the little troublemaker, scooping him up in her arms. "Enough misbehaving," she gently scolded. She felt something cold and wet land on her nose, and looked up at the sky, where gray storm clouds released snow.

Rahl leapt out of her arms and caught some of the snow on his back. He twisted around, trying to figure out what it was. When enough snow covered the ground, the little hatchling jumped around in it, sending flurries onto the robes of both magi. Dagger and Neera shared a glance filled with affection. "His first snow." They shared a sweet, if short kiss, until Rahl and Cypher tackled them. Neera's blue eyes glittered with happiness and joy, as did Dagger's.

I have to wait because my entry is going to end my first book, Strays. Look forward to it! But, if you want (critque would aslo be good), could you also read my book? I don't know if it is good or not and I would like to know, please. Thank you.

My entry will be, most definently, Prompt Three but it will have a ton of twists and turns. Usually the chapters I write end up around 3000 words so be prepared for at least 3000 words.

And good luck to everyone! I have read most of the stories and I like what I am up against. This will be a showdown of good writers. We will just have to persuade eachother with our words of wonder!

Oh, and please just call me Luna ...unless there is another Luna then call me Lunaheart.

It's good to know that you're working on your entry! I'll be glad to read Strays at some point, but since this contest is intended for stories that can stand on their own, it might allow me to judge better if I didn't read your book until after the contest. Also, I'd like to ask you to do your best to keep your entry under 3000 words, as the word limit policy appears to be something of a sore point for some people.
