Ah, see I don't know much about Game of Thrones. My dad and my sister like it, but for some reason neither would let me touch the books last time we were on holiday (which is weird...it's not like my family gets that possessive over things). I know a little about the houses and stuff and would like the time to visit down and read it whether my sister and dad like it or not, or even just to sit down and watch it from the start. I've seems advertisements for it though, and it irks me that their "dragons" are actually fire breathing wyverns. Not overly annoying though, just a little nitpick. Other than that, it looks pretty cool. No idea about any of the languages though, so sorry about that. I was just thinking if we were going for a really short way to type her nickname, that might work.SapphireHeart wrote:@Saria
Yes. I love the smell of wood fires. Anyway, you two can decide whatever you want about the wood, since my character doesn't know anything about that anyway. I'll go fix that part of my post.
I really like Kolya, as well. Actually, I like almost all of the characters - they managed to be so different, I really like it will be fun to watch them interact.
Also, 'Khaleesi' is a reference to Game of Thrones - it means 'queen' in Dothraki (kind of), which is a language from the books. 'Khal' is the masculine form of 'Khaleesi,' so calling her Khal wouldn't make as much sense.

Re: Unscripted Backstage
Well, it can get really graphic (though much more so in the show than in the books - in fact, if it weren't for my three favorite characters being epic all the time I wouldn't even try sitting through the TV show). The author actually made his dragons look like wyverns on purpose, because their body structure with four limbs and all that is more realistic (apparently he wants realistic flying, fire-breathing lizards...?). The motto of House Targaryen is 'Fire and Blood,' and Daenerys Targaryen (the last of her House) becomes a Khaleesi, which is why I thought we could call ThroughFireandBlood Khaleesi. But we could also just call her Dany, I suppose.
Wow, sorry for that extremely long-winded explanation. *hangs head in shame*

I like super long posts.
(I suck at writing them, though.)
I was hoping to reply tonight but my grandma and aunt are over. I'll see if I can get started on something before I go to bed and work on it tomorrow afternoon.

@Sapphire
Graphic doesn't bother me at all.
Maybe the author did it that way because a four legged dragon would be likely to be heavier and therefore the wings span would have to be ridiculous? Also to get the shoulder joints to work takes a bit of trouble with your typical western dragons.
And hey, don't worry. It wasn't long winded at all, kinda cool actually.

Don't worry, I like reading long posts!
I'm kind of curious though, how did she manage to sneak up on the fish to catch them? While fish don't have horrible vision (it's actually not too bad), water is a really bad medium for light to travel through, so they don't really rely too heavy on sight. They more rely on sensing disturbances in the water, as well as tasting their surroundings among other things. So while I think the whole idea of even animals being unable to see her is pretty cool, I don't see how she could catch the fish since as soon as she so much as twitched, they'd be gone. Plus then water would resist her movement so it's be harder for her to strike quickly.
@FireBlood/Khaleesi/Khal/anything but late for supper
Expect a mix of names from me then. It'll probably most likely be Fire, or Blood, or FireBlood, or Khal, or Khaleesi. I'll probably try Khaleesi the most, but if I'm on my phone and autocorrect or whatever is really annoying I'll probably go for one of the Fire/Blood ones.

Saf's power isn't just limited to sight. When she uses it and speaks, people are less likely to pay attention to what she says, or even realize she said anything at all. If she brushes by them, they're more likely to believe that nothing even happened. In short, she can lead others to ignoring her presence and some of her effect on them.Saria wrote:@Fox

People are more likely to look past her power if a) she's doing something that normally will attract attention, b) they have a sharp/watchful/aware mind, c) they're already paying attention to her.
As for the fish, they technically do sense Safila; however, their mental power isn't strong enough to overcome the effects of her power, as they are just fish, which leads to them ignoring any warning signals they get. Of course, as soon as they're in immediate danger, they notice and get the hell out of dodge. Which is why Safila has to be careful about when she attacks.
As for water resistance, I figured if she angled things right and didn't go directly across or against the current, she'd be fine. xD
At least, this is what I've figured, but I'm open to suggestions.

Re: Unscripted Backstage
Lots of questions, wow. Some stuff I didn't think too important, but I shall answer.
They do demand a lot of respect. Their existence is common knowledge, but yes, Koyla will likely know exactly, since they are literally at the border of his lands, and the kingdom (Still in kingdom).
They'll tell you what you need to know at that moment, and they'll never tell you what you must figure out yourself.
A Demigod at their weakest is as strong as an average human. At their strongest, they're one man armies.
Gods have the power of a seven nation army. Actually, more, seven nation army just sounds cooler.
And the point is character bonding, as I mentioned.
Plotwise, yes.
The gods do care (Well, most do.). They reason they don't do anything major is because they respect Author.
It's a monarchy, run by a king, with mayors and such handling domestic affairs. Some mayors are less inclined to report Demigods.
Country is known as Atlas. The King is named Cormac Bran. King Bran thinks Fate will grant him a good Fate if he agrees to Fates wishes.
Holidays depend on the towns, cities. Some are god related, some aren't.
Yes, it interacts with outside states, though some tension is beginning to arise from child abductions.
The people are impartial. He is bringing prosperity but at the same time is killing demigods for his own advancement, and is letting Author run rampant.
People either love them or fear them.
An Oracle is someone cursed by Patillacia. Or blessed, depends on who you ask. As such, they see what they aren't supposed to see. To be cursed by Patillacia... it's a random thing. She rarely does it, though. What are the oracles? Are they people? Are they, like, crystal balls? Are they some sort of scrying pool? Why are they all in the north? Who's going to know about them/how to find them (*coughKolyaprobablymakesthemostsensecough*) Are the oracles going to make everything easy and tell the demigods exactly what to do, or are they going to be mysterious and shady and just give the characters enough information to find out what they need on their own?

As I've mentioned, the gods spend a lot of time on earth, interact with people and such. Besides that, no one knows. Except Oracles, who won't tell you. The Goma are something that must be taken care of, because there's no way you can beat Fate and them together. How exactly do you kill a god? Are gods located on a higher plane of existence/alternate dimension, or are they hidden inside temples/loci/holy vessels/other? Or are they part of the world itself? Are there certain components you need to kill a god, or special weapons? Or do gods have video game weakspots? Or are there perhaps several objects/places/whatever that tie in to Author's strength and need to be destroyed first? Or maybe a combination of any of these...?

Harvest festival, with music. Talents (Like, non demigodly). They take the time to enjoy themselves, because they figure one day at the festival isn't gonna harm anything. They shouldn't have any problems. Is anything useful to the plot going to happen in the village, or is it just a chance for everyone to show off their fancy powers? Are they just there to get supplies/food? Are they going to have problems hiding their demigod powers? Are they going to run in to soldiers/other demigods/bounty hunters/servant of Author? Is this a harvest festival, a religious festival, or what?
And the point is character bonding, as I mentioned.
Plotwise, yes.
It's personal. There are scattered temples, Priests and such. But most pray in private, or in their own ways. And it usually depends on what they're doing. How are the gods honored/worshiped? Do they have temples? Priest(esses)? Acolytes? How organized is religion in this kingdom? Are there different factions that support different gods? Do the gods care about what author is doing? How is this country run? What is it called? Who is the king/leader? What does the king/leader think of Author's destruction of the demigods? How do religion and state interact? Do the gods have holidays? Are there any non-god-related holidays in this kingdom? How big is the kingdom? Does it interact with outside states at all? What do the people think of the king? What do the people think of their gods?
