He's a lot better at it than I am. I keep looking at the floor or in any direction the person isn't.
But then, I tried to avoid social contact as a kid, so this is probably an outgrowth of it.

I hate humans. I don`t know why. I just hate them, in general. This is not personal, I just don`t like them. Animals should be left with this planet alone, because they certainly know how to use it correctly. Humans act supirior, and *most* think that animals are stupid and show no respect for them. Well, guess what? You are incredibly stupid, not helping the earth, because if you don`t help at all, you are going to die, and this world will be gone. All of the animals, insects, everything will die because of us.

There was something here but I forgot.

That's how I am...
People on another site told me to either shut my mouth, or do something about the humans and how they act. Okay...seriously? There's nothing a teenage girl can do; I have no voice in this society until I turn eighteen, and even then I won't be heard.
So, I think I'd rather just sit back and watch the humans doom themselves. That's all I can do...
Though, I do know that not all humans are like that. I've come across such good people, who actually treat animals and the planet with the respect they obviously deserve. Too bad those kinds of people are few and far between...
Unfortunately for the above posters, I don't suffer from any kind of misanthropy. My attitude towards people is actually quite positive, and that the vast majority of people are decent individuals, as opposed to being something the "planet would be better off without".
[I really do not like that attitude, personally.]
When I say I don't like being around others I mean that being around a lot of people is overwhelming to me. It's too much to take in, so I opt to go solitary, unless there's something I want enough to venture forth and mingle with a bunch of people to get.
Like going out to buy food, or maybe the rare movie at the theatre.
I like people. I just get overload when being around large groups [or even smaller ones] that I seek out a solitary existence.

People have bugged me since I was a little kid. My mom sent me to therapy thinking it was something wrong with my brain. She said /i was fine... Just a natural loner. We speculate this all happened because I was abused by a teacher in 1st grade and didn't come out of that shell till 5th grade.
I've never had that many friends or an interest in people. But Im happy with who I have.
And we can't really talk like we're not all humans on the other side of this screen. There are good people in the world, alot of them, and we cant claim they're bad when we are the same. Thats not to say there aren't bad people, jusst to say they are a minority.

But even the people who claim to be helping the planet and the animals and stuff can be just as whacko. Ever look into the truth about PeTA? Ye gads!
Humans, in large numbers are idiots. Individuals can be smart, intelligent and thoughtful. (I'm failing at remembering that line from Men in Black. lol)
Even before you're 18, you can still make a difference. Just do your part, live what you believe.
One of the scariest things I've ever done was intervene in a family (who happened to be another race that generally doesn't like my race) that was killing a harmless bullsnake in a State Park. It was just slithering through the grass looking for mice to eat, and they started whacking it with a stick. When I realized what they were doing, I couldn't just sit there. I wasn't able to save the snake, but I did make them stop. Of all dozen of them... one young boy saw what I did and recognized that it was something different and special. My act may well have changed his life and views towards the world around us.
Another time, I was in a park and came across a group of adolescents gathered around a tree looking at something on the ground. One of the younger boys was trying to dig a hole and crying, while the older ones teased him about being a murderer. I asked them what was up. Turned out the younger boy had intentionally thrown a hacky-sack at a young squirrel, but had unintentionally hit it, knocking it from the tree where it hit the ground and was out cold. He thought he'd killed it. I saw it was still breathing, and pointed this out to him. Then, I said, 'Look, I do wild life rehabilitation. How about I take him and see if we can save him? The zoo is right over there, I'll see if Dr. Wiggins is in and she'll get him fixed right up." (I'd been on my way to the zoo anyways, and Dr. Wiggins is their head vet. She used to be the uber reptile vet in town until she took the zoo job). The kids agreed, and I took the little guy in- he was fine. Meanwhile, it was obvious the kids had all learned a lesson- be gentle with nature, think before you act, don't tease your traumatized little brother...
No, we can't all design a working cap for a leaking oil well. Some of us refuse to go vegetarian. No, maybe you can't vote yet. But, you can make a difference, even if it's just in the life of one creature, or person. Sometimes, that's all that really matters.
Sometimes, just being able to look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and know you have no regrets is worth it.
