I guess you had a lot of time or determination at your hands
Congratz~

I could never manage it with 12 hour school days and Wednesday being 100% taken By other activities
I only had 6 hours per day x4 and then the weekend each week
It was not going to happen

Determination is what matters, imo. My best friend did NaNo when she had could only squeeze out one hour of free time per day to do it, between a full time job and finishing her Master degree. A friend who is currently doing PhD - and is VERY! - busy with that finished on the same day I did.
While I had more free time nowadays than I would have had, say, a year ago, all the time in the world would have mattered zero fly specks, if I didn't *want* to reach the goal.

You don't need to guilt yourself for not finishing it, it's not like NaNo is some obligation or proof of worth, but, IDK, your wording also kinda sounds passive-aggressive, as if people who finish somehow had it working easy for them.

Every time I try to work on this while at home, my laptop is displaced by a dog and I have to stop. Still trying to make it though, despite the fact that I am now sick as well. Maybe something good will come of that if I'm still ill by Monday and take an extra day off...

I've got mixed feeling for it
I was very exited to get back to writing, and I was feeling Super good when I actually got some writing done
But man... I'm all about Quality over Quantity, so me writing in English, aka not my native language (because it sounds way better than Finnish in my opinion + my characters were Brits), I had to go check each and every word and think it through for some minutes if that was really the word I was looking for and if it even fit there. That slowed me down drasticly. I had fallen behind and as the 'daily required word count' kept on increasing, I was cracking under the additional stress it caused

I was trying to just 'keep going' and forced myself to at least try each day. My depression tripped me after a few sentences and I was too tired to work

Eventually, I had fallen behind so much that I had to throw my brain out of the window and just 'go for it'. I did try to just get something/anything written but that destroyed me with its bad quality
So I gave up as my interest dropped

I'm more angry at myself for just not going through with it like a zombie, as I had people backing me up and they would have helped me solve the brainfarts, but I quit, so a part of me felt like I was letting people down
I've gotten over it now though, as some other people dropped it too

I'm a lot happier now though, and I've almost gotten over my depression. I didn't have time to take a picture for my book cover during this weekend even if I had planned for it, but oh well, I got all the time in the world now

But yes, tomorrow is the last day for those who are still trying to finish it in time. Good luck you guys~

I don't think I'll be putting up a cover on time because I'm not satisfied with the colour scheme I picked for the drawing I started... and I'm gonna be out for most of tomorrow. Oh well. :derp: /doesn't have a scanner, relies on taking photos of all her art, can only do that while it's still light outside

But yeah, I can understand how perfectionism can kill off speed - happened to me during both working on my Bachelor and Master theses. I'm happy that for NaNo, at least, I was able to switch off my inner critic and be all "ok, this is so badly worded, but nevermind GOTTA GO FAST", especially as I went to several write-togethers which where our municipal liaison would do this lottery of variously titled prompts on folded paper strips that corresponded to different word counts for 90 minute sprints with, usually, 30 minute breaks between them. Yesterday was the last write-together, and gosh, they were so much fun, I'm almost sad that it's over.
It also helped that my final goal for this story - which, within my 56k words so far, is maybe 20-25% finished in terms of just covering the plot so far - is a different project from a novel, so I'm mostly writing it just to have the plot written out somehow to see what works for my project and what doesn't.

Anyway, tl;dr - even if you didn't/won't finish, well, you have more words written than you had at the beginning of the month, and that is super good, too.

I would have needed a very good sugar-high to be able to Sanic through it xD But instead, I got a 'pervy' phase: friend asked me to correct a sentence or chooce which of the two sounded better. The other one made it sound like her characters wanted to eat each others because of mushrooms x3

At least you got it done, you can always shave off the odd marks later on

I have the 60% of the plot nailed down to short sentences, but eh, I'll work with it
Who knows, I still kinda sorta want to write it before I forget, so I might pic it up during winter Holiday or such, if my other projects allow me to do that

I did this

Anyone else making a last-ditch effort? I really should not be spending time on this right now, but I'm still trying anyway. If I can hit 40K before I go to bed tonight I might be able to get there tomorrow. I definitely do not have one novel anymore though--I have three plus several short intros to other ideas and lots of outlines with plot material.

Edit: Boom. So I totally cheated a little and included some academic writing, but hey, it was written in November. Now I can actually rest for the rest of today, which is what I'm supposed to be doing since I took a sick day. Also, I now have 5 different stories in progress just from this year, plus last year's and some old short stories I found while I was searching my many documents to make sure I included everything from this month (I kept opening new ones for scenes that I didn't want to throw into the jumble that is my nano document).

You know... I was convinced I wouldn't do it this year, but then today I decided that I'm gonna. Partially so that I can attend the writing meetings at my local library, haha. I won't be writing a novel, but several short stories about OCs I have lying around but that I don't generally do much with, because I'm otherwise still in RP group hell. Which is a nice hell, but... I should sometimes take care of other OCs.

I would like to try again
But my inspiration is not co-operating. I have the writing from last year, but I'm not as inspired to write that at this very moment. I got an Rp plot, but I'm bad with sci-fi and asking the group for help would spoil everything xD So I can't really do that
Friend saw a dream and we started plotting for something to write co-operately. In January xD
I might need to figure out something else
I have my comic, so I could start writing the plot as a book. Could be nice

Do you think it's a bad idea? Would it ruin the comic? Visual things are more my suite than writing. I feel that writing could be done better than what I can
Or I'm not saying that I'm Bad at it, just that I'm better with the more visual variant
