Hm, so many new entries! Good luck everyone.

Bump! Consolation prizes have been added!
Kestrad has been eaten by life. She'll probably pop back in occasionally.

Re: Writing Contest! [Open]
Spoiler
Her head drooped to the side, her shoulders sagged. It was a rare sight, to see such a powerful woman brought down by the simplest thing. The only thing keeping her standing was the wall she leaned against, her shoulder a stark red from the force she used just to keep a tired body from dropping. What if I just rest for a moment? Just allow myself to- No. She couldn't allow her mind to be plagued with such dangerous thoughts. Pain was good. Tiredness was good. Comfort and sleep were bad. The pain showed Ashlynn she was alive. The tiredness showed her she she wasn't sleeping. Comfort would lead to sleep, and sleep would lead to death. Gritting her teeth, she looked over to the side, her large black draft horse standing still, waiting for a command by its owner. A soft cue from delicate lips, and the horse trotted over, standing beside his master. Ashlynn grabbed the saddle, using the large beast to keep her standing. With a pained grunt, she mounted, clutching the saddle to keep her from falling. Straightening up slightly, she flicked the reins, sending the horse into a trot. Anything faster would mean death. With a quick look behind her, she knew they were alone. But her father was behind her somewhere, waiting to deliver the killing blow. He wounded her with a spare piece of glass! She was a powerful sorceress, and he managed to nearly kill her with glass. If it wasn't for her brother, she'd be dead.
A tear slid down her cheek, the salty water leaving a trail as it landed on her dress. They flowed freely as her horse trotted towards the forest. Hopefully there, no one would see her mourn over her loss.
