The longer I deal with the new layout over on FF, the less I like it. The green glow around the planet in the background seriously bugs my eyes after a while, my favorite of the available games is unplayable (eggdoku), and things like the menus up top being consistently usable should have been fixed before it was rolled out, not to mention the problems with moving items (menu for an item in Possessions overlaps the item below it, so if you pick anything on the lower part of the menu, it selects the lower item instead). I can understand needing to tweak stuff like colors and contrasts, but basic functions should not be in a beta state for a rollout with no option to use the old system.

Then again, this is also the site that thinks basic forum functions like search are too much trouble. I swear this place is a constant roller coaster between awesome and sucktacular.

I'm currently having a love-hate relationship with FF too. I kind of like the new layout, but it definitely has issues. I do like that some of the issues have already been fixed, and Lyro is working on it.
Thing is, the whole site is still in beta, so stuff like layout being wonky isn't that surprising. Sometimes you have to see it live to know what it's going to do and what needs adjusted or fixed.
The planet and button glow haven't been bothering me as much the last two days. But the font... the font needs fixed asap!

I've been avoiding gen-coding because of the layout wackiness. Now I've got kittens due soon, which means I'm going to have to brave it and do my coding regardless.
