I'm just writing a bunch of really random stuff. I think I'd like to add in memoirs from one of my characters somehow, so I'm writing a bunch of 1st person POV backstory for him. Not sure how it will get put in, though, with my two side-by-side storylines--the other main characters are illiterate so there's nothing comparable for them.

Edit: as promised, I'm killing people off as election results trickle in. Nobody important, but the dead bodies have started to accumulate.

Edit 2: I'm frustrated enough that I just went ahead and jumped to the (long-planned) main character death all the way at the end.

Edit 3: I decided he needed more near-death experiences before he actually dies. Then I had my other main character unwillingly murder some small children.

Edit 4: Trump just took Ohio. An entire slum just got sent to their deaths a little prematurely.

Edit 5: not out just yet. One main character just saved the mother of the other two, but she's very ill...an hour later, oh look, she's dead too.

Does your writing have any peeps left alive or are you now going to write exclusively about mother nature and how it was affected by cannibalism?

One of the main characters lives through it, as does most of the upper class, because it's a very depressing statement on modern humanity with a tiny tiny light of hope that he will make things change. So pretty relevant right now, apparently...

I'm the same Niv, my diet went out the window along with my motivation to do any kind of writing.

- finish chapter 12
- start chapter 13
- reach 25k words

Yeah, I clocked in a whole 100 words yesterday. I just... couldn't write.

Guess I'll give in and also include the 1x1 rp posts I write this month from now on in my NaNo word count, because no way am I also putting rps on hold.

I'm working through it by writing memoir entries from a character about how corrupt and hateful their city is. Not that I'm getting very far--I feel like I'm spending most of my time right now reassuring other people while trying not the be the complete pessimist that I am.

I might try and get some writing done tonight, I don't know.

I'm just feeling a little uninspired at the moment.

I'm mad because I was going to stream with virtual write-in today, and about 20 minutes before it started everyone just started to pile on the tasks after not needing me all day to that point. I didn't finish until an hour after the live-stream. I mean, I can still watch it, but that kind of ruins the point.

I don't think I'll ever catch up with where I need to be again but at least I did get some writing done today.

I'm making a little bit of progress again. My goal is to hit 15K tonight, then try to catch up over the weekend. I do have some work to do tomorrow, though--got edits back for two manuscripts that need to be typed up and shared as quickly as possible. I'm hoping I can get through the month without actually counting things like that in my wordcount.
