Well it changes how I'd RP it slightly, why I ask. (didn't they make some reference in the show how it was cannon that they weren't colored or am I being stupid again?)

Well there were a lot of NPCs that were colored and detailed.

in the second season they did add details to the NPC's, but throughout the first season unless that person was directly interacting with a named character. they were a silhouette
