I've 'rescued' (ie rehomed) various domestic pets, but as far as wild creatures go, I've rescued a broken winged pigeon, and two ducklings. THe ducklings were a sad tale, their mother was trying to cross a main road near where I live with her family and got killed - we saw it happen two cars in front of us. We went back a little while later and tried to catch the youngsters. We got one of the 5 out of a drainage ditch in the half dark - let me tell you they are not easy to catch! Very early next morning we went back and managed to get the only one left by then. Presumably the others fell prey to a fox or owl or something. There wasn't any way we could keep them so we handed them over to a bird sanctuary, and I hope they are flying around to this day.
Thank you to everyone who gifted me :)

Me, my sister and a friend of mine found a crow whom had gotten caught in a net once. My sister got our father, and together we cut the poor bird loose with a scrissor, and my dad removed the net.

We once rescued a squirrel. My brother was about 11 and found it limping around our yard. He just went over to it and picked it up before placing it in a neighbor's tree. He said it just kept looking at him so he held his hands out and it jump to him from like fifteen feet. We kept it for a few months and named it Skippy.

We found a baby squirrel after hurricane Floyd and it hadn't even opened it's eyes yet. We found a squirrel sanctuary to take him.

My brother rescued a pit bull puppy that was tied to a stop sign. :( He found a family to take him. I called him Buddy. :)

Caught an injured crow about a month or so ago and called for the Wildlife Rescue to come pick him up... It was my first time saving a wild animal (arthropods not included) and the feeling was just... amazing... It made me feel like I'm not actually totally useless. I wish I can see that crow-crow again... :(

Recently I rescued a rock dove who's foot got tangled in fishing wire. Some idiot kids were playing around with it and by the time my friends and I got them to go away, the pigeon's foot was bloody and swollen, and the dorsal major feathers were all torn up. We called the Wildlife Center and they freed its foot for us.
That pigeon was the sweetest thing. I held it with gloves and it didn't peck at me or anything. After they unwound the wire, they told us that the only thing we could do now is let it go and hope. And I released it on the ground and it flew away from me as if its life depended on it. XD
I love it when they do that, because it means they're still nice and alert.

Another time, a neighbor had poisoned a young cottontail rabbit that lived in our yard. I walked outside one morning and it was just lying in the dust, gaping like a fish. We put it in a shoe box lined with tissues to get it to a wildlife center and then it died. We buried it in our yard later, but I wish that I came earlier, because maybe then we could've had more time... :(

Does it count that I helped a bird out of the 'water chute'? It was stuck there and I had to pour some water in the thing so that it could manage to slip through the whole 'pipe' and then fly away to freedom and join the flock again
This Signature looks so bad on mobile. Good lord it is HUGE. I'll need to work on that at some point. For now though I sleep

I rescued a hawk (forgot what kind), it was a couple years ago and I was with my father coming back from a two hour trip to drop my friend home, anyway we see this bird on the ground and it's not moving, like we went right up to it and it moved its head but would do anything else. I grabbed a large towel out of the truck and picked up the bird (I even had thick gloves on, but I never needed them as the bird never gave any trouble), a lot of calls and an hour drive later we dropped the bird off with a wild life bird person, she said he probably hurt his head and he had a hurt wing. Don't know what happened after that but I hope he was rehabilitated back into the wild.
