Just for the helluvit I think is going to win out. One of those, "Why do you wander?" "Why not?" things. It also fits with the personality I want her to have.

I need help.

I decided last night that since my series of stories takes place on a large island/small continent, and I already know that something cataclysmic happens that creates a huge ridge through the southern third of the land (big sheer fault line/ stair step type thing), that I'm going to have my island torn away from a mainland continent and set adrift.
The land is mostly medieval high fantasy, but there's some high technology too (items similar to chemical flame throwers and cell phones). Magic is used by evil priest/mage types, but there are powers and abilities that come naturally that aren't true magic (think magical creatures, such as Dragons, and mutant powers ala X-men)

Anyways... what I need to figure out, is just HOW I'm going to rip an Australia sized hunk of land off an Africa sized hunk of land with out killing EVERYONE. (lot of death is to be expected, but I can't kill everyone)
I need to figure out if the good guys or the bad guys do it.
WHY they do it.
And will it be part of the climax (where the good guys are killing the mortal, physical body of the evil god to make him go away and keep the planet from being plunged into darkness eternal... yadda yadda yadda.) Or, will the good guys have to defeat said mortal evil god in the aftermath of continent sundering cataclysm?

I'm writing 150k. X) I'm supposed to write 5k each day.

Hmm, tough one, TNHawke! I'm not very good at brainstorming. I still think that you should save the one part for the climax, though. More exciting. And... maybe there's some sort of safe area that a lot of people went to? Maybe the bad guys are the ones that ripped the place apart and some news got out about it beforehand? I have no clue. Uhh good luck

How many years have you participated in NaNoWriMo? Since 2003, which would make it 9 years of participation. Of those, I have only one year where I didn't finish.

I'm half of a writing team (Pshawraven is the other half) but we each write 50,000 words.

This year, we got off to a shaky start. The novel we wanted to build on had disappeared out of our computer files. Luckily, my husband the computer geek was able to pull up a saved, intact copy from one of his many back-ups of the family server.

Currently at 2875 and need to stop to do some research before we continue but it's going well.
