agreed! Rockfalcon has the final say on it all in the end.

I'm just going to say that i haven't had such a good brainstorming debate like conversation like this in a long time, and i totally miss it, and thank you all for giving it to me. I'm only 18, but gosh i wish i had some more conversations like this.

I thought you meant the breasts would be totally gone, but yes i agree with that. smaller breast size would work.

I also thought you meant each change with the blood and bone thing. so we agree on that also. :wee:
Yes, if this were my RP, i would agree to that timing as well. The more practiced the kids get at it, the less pain (or more tolerant they are to it) and thus less time.

I'm thinking that the faerie may have just awoken those dormant genes or even if she did some magic, those genes would still be there and because we have at least half woken them, they would continue into our young. I'm not sure about what would be more dominant though. Maybe over generation the avian side would become more dominant.

I hate it when discussions or debates turn into fights. it ruins it all when you, or the other person can't take whats being said and just throws a hissy fit. it is funny to see them throw hissy fit though, my sisters do it a lot. i can just imagine a fully grown man or woman doing it, with the stamping foot and everything... XD

The joy of being an adult is remaining a kid at heart.
But it takes time to lose with honor and realise your mistakes. So yes, it is a pest when people tun a civil debate into a fight. But in my experiance it's mostly because those people can't discern the core of the debate and personal issues. Like taking a civil debate about religion like a personal attack.

After a lot of transformations they will change their pain limit though.
Each of us has a tolerance of pain. If you hit your hand at the same place for a long period of time, the pain will feel less after a while.
The pain will never fully go away, but at the heigth of their tolerance it will just be like a massive headache all over your body.

Well the avian thing is dependant of how she changed us.
If it is pure genes, then it will be recessive. Only way to get kids like we are is with a union of a boy and a girl of the group.
With normal humans the genes will be passed on, but will not become visible unless the genes find the avian genes that caused the transformation with us.

If the change is a prion based one, it's a differnt story.
A prion is an 'broken' protein. It is the cause of mad cow disease ( Jacob frits-Gerald disease in humans). The protein enters the body and finds all proteins that closely resemble the shape it used to have when it was normal. Then it changes these normal ones into the prion shape. This cannot be reverted to their original shape.
So with a prion changes, if our bonemarrow, brainstem or brain ever come into conact with another person, they become like us. Flesh at a lower chance.

Man, why am I never on when these discussions take place?

Okay, for the seasickness. People living in Circus City would definitely be very used to any motion of the city- but I do not think it would move. It can't have a water cushion because that much liquid would be way too heavy- so support it via gyroscopics. That should solve that problem.

As for the secondary building, I think its a good idea. And the ground propulsion system- it would have to be maintained, meaning specially trained engineers and guards going down to the Lower World at regular intervals to check on it. Perfect.

And for the body and gene issues. First off, nobody's going to be nursing any babies in avid form, so the breast size does not matter. And the genes would probably be a dormant recessive gene, passed on to children. But I do not think that will be much of an issue in this RP seeing as we all have teenage characters and no one has a baby.

@Kaida: Yes, that.... it- oh, bugger it all, post your form. But this is the only time I'll let some on join after ive closed the RP!

Name: Carmine
Age: 18
Gender(lots of options here...): Male
Appearance: Carmine is slightly taller than average and his most prominent feature is his hair. Long and red. He has bangs and two strands of hair drape down, outlining his face. Sometimes he leave the hair out while at others he ties them back, depending on his ever changing mood. While his hair attracts others, the clothing Carmine chooses to wear represents the opposite. A black scarf wraps around his neck and grey clothes tend to follow. He has amber coloured eyes.

Personality: Carmine's personality varies from time to time, having an almost two-faced personality. He can go from talkative, outgoing, even a little flirty, to calm, cold and collected. Many believe he has bipolar disorder but Carmine hates the idea of it. He likes to think of his changes in personality as different sides of himself and not an illness or disorder. But the problem still causes him trouble. The flirty outgoing self draws people towards him and the other, less social side drives people away. Even Carmine wonders why he still is called a friend in the group. He is fully aware of how his personality sets things off, as he has gained and lost many friends over the years.

History: Carmine hasn't always had his personality disorder. Before he lost his sister he was only outgoing, talkative and a flirt. But the loss of his sister damaged him more than he wanted everyone to believe, the trauma caused his bipolar disorder to form and ever since he dealt with issues trying to hide it.

Wings(What bird?): Bearded vulture (Aka the lammergeier)

Additional?(Here's where, if you desire, you may argue for extra powers.): Bearded vultures have an extremely low pH, 1, in their stomaches in order to dissolve bones completely. So this would give Carmine the ability to eat bones as well. But on the flip side, his stomach would become more sensitive to normal food. I figure that his body will be going through the process of changing the types of buffers being used in the stomach to regulate this new pH so it would make Carmine more sensitive to certain foods and would require him to regulate his own pH by drinking liquids such as vinegar. (If there is someway to make this make more sense, please let me know. I hope it makes sense the way it is...)

Well what can I say. We tend to get sidetracked with all possibilities and problems when we start having fun with debates.

The reason why I brought up the breast thing is again because of the overflow from avian to normal.
We will have to keep the extra muscles because it will be to much of a pain to grow these every single time we transform.
At first they will start off smallish as we need to train with them to be able to fly. As again we don't magicly be able to do everything our fairy godmother/alien out to have a laugh at human expense tells us we will be able to do.

Second because breasts shrink while training those muscles, don't you think it will be odd if the girls go from DD to AA and plop the DD's back in when they toss off the wings? And I'm using DD just as an example.
Apart from the silliness, it will be a terror to the tendons keeping them in place.

I must say that is one of the scariest looking birds...... :t-O_O:

The breast thing was just an offshoot of the debate we were having. I'm sorry if it caused trouble or anything. I agree the muscles should remain through human form too.

I can't wait for the first post.

Kaida, you're accepted! Nice form. Yes, there can be a thing where he has to drink vinegar. I don't know how that would work scientifically but at this point it sounds awesome so I really don't care.
I'll add your form to the main thread in a moment.

As for the rest of everything:

We have to decide on a few things, right now. Legs. Normal legs and a second pair of wings? Or birdish legs and a tail for ruddering? Anyone who does NOT want the birdlegs and tail, please say so immediately. Otherwise that will be their avid form and there is no changing that.

Secondly, muscles. Since their bone structure changes in their avid form, giving them an actual breastbone protrusion for their flight muscles to be attached to, they don't have those muscles and that bone in their human form. The muscles are form-dependent, unlike the bone density and blood oxygenation efficiency.

Thirdly, the transformation time. Thirty minutes, in my opinion, is rather ridiculous. Fifteen is still a little long. Honestly, I was thinking- not instantaneously, although that was probably my original thought- something closer to just a couple of minutes or more. Less than five. Anyone seen the Supernatural episode Skin? Yeah, not quite like that, but maybe taking the same amount of time. I honestly hadn't thought much about the transformation aside from "poof" so.... that shows exactly how into detail I go when coming up with ideas.

Fourth, again with the breasts. I hate- hate hate HATE- to do this, but this is a magic transformation and thus some things that should be problems aren't going to be problems.
God, I hate leaning on the magic crutch. But we may have to with that one. They can go from streamlined to non-streamlined in their avid and human forms respectively and not destroy their torsos.

Decide on the legs and come up with a reasonable transformation sequence (that's actually quite important); then we will start!

I like the idea of a second pair of wings better than bird legs and a tail, I think! (I don't have any estimate on how long transformation would take, so I'll just go with you on that...)

Four wings allow the kids to 'hang' in a location in the air as if they are hoovering. Still I would prefer bird legs.
Mostly because of the clawed kick they can hand out.

The reason why I said 30 minutes that can shrink to 15 minutes after training is again a matter of mass.
First of the skin on thier legs turns 'scaled' , the bones of their feet have to blend together to create the bird feet.
Big ass bones have to form on the back with a skin layer as a web between them.
Feathers sprout all over the place. Thinner less painful down feathers for heat and the stronger feathers to sustain flight.
The tail has to grow in (or out depending on your point of view) and there will be some muscles attached to them to allow the tail to move.

And no, I've never seen that episode. Or I did and forgot.

Our stomage contains an acid of pH2. Commonly known.
If we eat alot of stuff that are alkalizing food ( apple, apricot, kale, dates and the list goes on), we make the pH go up to make a more neutral enviorment. Acidic food (corn, olives, spelt, beacon, beef and a whole list) makes the pH go down.
White vinnegar is the most acidic, BUT it has a pH of 2.4.

Our stomage lining has cells that create enzymes that causes the pH level of our stomage.
Can't you just have differnt enzymes that make your stomage pH be lower than that of the avarage person?
Basicly instead of being forced to drink someone, be banned to eat great quantities of other stuff?

Ok personally i would prefer the normal legs and the second set of wings.
I agree that if we were thinking scientifically, the transformation should take time, but i would prefer it to be alot quicker, as you say 5minutes or so.

AAANNDD i thought of something. Sorry to bring this up so late, but instead of growing brand new bones each time we transform, what about we have them under our skin on our back, so we have kinda like lumps or something. Penguins have the full set of legs but they are hidden beneath the skin, so why not have something like that? And maybe to make the protrusions less noticeable, maybe make it so our ribs are compressed or out inner bone structure near our chest is slightly different to accompany it. So basically the transformation isn't so magical and isn't growing a whole set of bones, muscles and feathers and just be growing some extra skin and feathers really.

Sorry for bringing this up so late. but it would make the time thing alot less possibly.
