Re: Favorite music?
I'm starting to get into this group that is a mix of gothic rock and dark wave called "The Birthday Massacre."
It is weird that the band sounds so young when they've been around for over 20 years now.

Re: Favorite music?
I chose Rock as my favorite, but I also adore Folk and that wasn't an option
Only five favorite songs is tough, but I'll try to narrow it down. Let's see...
Gotta start with Tom Petty. I love all of his music, but I'll go with the song "You Wreck Me". (Tom Petty honorable mentions go to "Alright for Now" and "Louisiana Rain")
Next, I'll go with The Eagles' live recording of "Seven Bridges Road", originally by a different artist. The harmonies are beautiful, please listen to it (The Eagles honorable mentions go to "Desperado" and "Wasted Time")
Third, something a bit different. I'm from Quebec and my first language is French. There's a quebecois neo-trad band called Les Cowboys Fringants and I'm obsessed with them. My favorite sing by them is "Les etoiles filantes" (translation: The shooting stars). It's kinda folky, kinda rocky, and completely enjoyable! (Les Cowboys Fringants honorable mentions go to "L'Amerique pleure" (America cries) and "Ces temps-ci" (These times))
Fourth, Scissor Sisters! Some quality genre-defying glam-pop-rock. My favorite song of theirs is probably "Take Your Mama". (Scissor Sisters honorable mentions go to their cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" and "Return to Oz" - although all three of these songs are from their debut album, their other albums are excellent too!)
And finally, the band Styx. The first concert I ever saw. I love waaay too many of their songs for this. But if I have to choose a number one, it would be "Castle Walls" - I think it's super underrated and it's always given me chills. (Styx honorable mentions go to "Man in the Wilderness" and "The Grand Illusion" - again, these are all from the same album. In this case, although I do love all of their music, this was definitely their best album)
...So, this ended up being way more than my top five. Sorry But hey, if you're looking for new music to listen to and you haven't hear these songs yet, check them out!

Re: Favorite music?
Due to some recent purchases from some Country traditionalists and oldies like Zane Lewis, Restless heart, and Rhett Atkins, I'm realizing how much I love country music from the 90s and early 00s.
Re: Favorite music?
Oh, nice! I have a certain fondness for country music myself, since that's all my grandparents ever listen to. Classical still tops it for me though.

Re: Favorite music?
Top five is tough.
1. Lai Lai Hei - Ensiferum. Long, pretty, and also a banger.
2. En Maktig Har - Finntroll. It sounds like a party!
3. Svart Djup - Finntroll. When they're not in Party Mode, the singer here has a really lovely voice. Sounds lovely, and excellent writing music.
4. Holy Thunderforce - Rhapsody of FIre. The lyrics for most of these guys' songs make very little sense, but they're very fun and good for Going Fast.
5. Juoni Juoni - Korpiklaani. I'd put basically the whole album here, but, this one also sounds like a party and it's really fun.
