Re: The Maker's Guild
I've been busy with stuffs but I thought I'd drop in and show you guys the yarn I've been working on. Once it's finished and washed and I know how much yardage I have, I can pick a pattern! And then procrastinate on winding this yarn into a ball for knitting.
Re: The Maker's Guild
Wow that is so beautiful! You must have worked hard on that! I am working on spinning a light blue-green yarn. I use a drop spindle. I am really motivated to work on it and get done because I recently bought 4 ounces of grey alpaca wool. My mom wants me to spin it and give it to her, but hand spun yarn is so personal for me.

I like to sew a lot,i mostly make plushies that never get finished at all,or wind up weird looking. But i also like to make little things like bracelets and projects that involve using ribbon.Ribbon has a long list of DIY uses.
I'v also wanted to make this little headband i saw in a video, but i don't have the pipe cleaners for it.

Re: The Maker's Guild
Yeah finally found another "home". I do a lot of cocheting, when im not to busy with adulting. I had turn this form of stress relife into a littke side income. I had tried to knit, but that was way to stessful for me. I had dipped my hands into beaded keychains, embordy work, latch hook, countercross stich, plastic cavans, quilting, beaded saftypin bracelets, and loom weaving. I never really gotten into these crafts so much. Crocheting on the other hand, i cant go into Joanns without going way over budget. I had to have a shock collar put on before i am allowed in the store.
I mainly crochet hats, scarves, fingerless gloves, and headbands. Though i do dabble in the sweatters and blankets.
I am curently working on a freehanded hat. The top part is a soild stich, the middle part of the hat is a moden granny stich ripple, then the finished is a basic stich.

I did some crafty stuff today. I helped make award ribbons for a local steampunk festival. I just helped put together the ribbon part, but it was fun.

Re: The Maker's Guild
Anyone else love those kids craft kits? Been thinking about getting one we have at work that has stuff for making beaded key chains.
Kinda like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Made-Me-Create-H ... dpSrc=srch
Or maybe this one:
https://www.target.com/p/craftabelle-su ... A-53570918
I think they're really good for trying out new hobbies without buying a ton of materials.

Re: The Maker's Guild
I've kinda been wanting to try sewing plushies.I mostly just sew things that rip,and it'd be nice to just have a regular project to work on.I did try sewing a plushie once[a bear made out of pink fabric that had a pattern of darker pink diamonds]but it didn't work well, the head looked like it was pushed on too much.
So does anyone have any idea how to start sewing plushies,or just some tips?I usually can't find a pattern for things,so tips on how to make them would be appreciated.

I used to find patterns and stuff for plushies on DeviantArt. Usually they'd have walkthroughs too. I believe pinterest might be another good place to start.PyreiceBlue wrote:I've kinda been wanting to try sewing plushies.I mostly just sew things that rip,and it'd be nice to just have a regular project to work on.I did try sewing a plushie once[a bear made out of pink fabric that had a pattern of darker pink diamonds]but it didn't work well, the head looked like it was pushed on too much.
