Even tough bitter cold
The childrean play till the day is old
And within the snow
The angels show
When blind white covers our world
and the last ball has been hurled
Stary night has fallen
the clothes be dampen
We sit around the fire
And dream of a great empire
Where faries play
When in bed we lay

Hey guys, great poems! Just a reminder that only 9 of you will be chosen to win the prize on what I think is the 22nd of December. So far the decision is already hard.

This was a lot of fun and put me in the mood for the season. Thank you so much! <3

Christmas Traditions

Brightly colored strings of lights
on still and chilly winter nights.

Carols drift across the earth,
while families sit around the hearth.

Tummies filled with mom’s cooking,
children wait by the window looking.

Hoping that perhaps this year
they’ll have a glimpse of just one reindeer.

And for some a savior was born,
so with gifts they celebrate this Christmas morn.

This was fun to do and made me think of what to write. This came from deep within me. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did writing it.

Here is my poem (The shorter one is my entry and is in the dark blue font):

Prayer to the Lord on High
Spoiler
Prayer to Him who was born tonight!
Save me from myself within,
O'Lord, my love to you is to begin.
Show me what is right and wrong,
Show me the way and guide me on.
You were born tonight for us,
To save us from our own distress.
Now I'm here to serve you alone,
Guide me on, show me home.

I no longer felt guilt and fear,
For the Lord was open and ready to hear.
The sinner in me is no more,
For now I serve the Lord.
Prayer to the Lord on High,
He who was born tonight!
He came to save us all from sin,
Pray and become his within.

Pray to the Lord on High,
For he was born to save us on this night!
And if you want to read the longer version of my poem, here it is:
(NOTE: This is not my entry)
Spoiler
The moonlight shines, big and bright,
Deep into the dark of night.
Sleigh bells ring and glitter,
As the snowflakes fall and flitter.
Prayer to the Lord on High,
For He was the one born tonight!

The soft sweet smell of Eve Dinner,
Reaches my nose, sinner.
I looks on out the window,
Watching the doors of the Church close behind a widow.
I sigh and walk on out,
Following the widow's Church route.

Sinner I may be,
But I know there is more than me.
I look into the Church of the Lord,
And listen to the Church's chord.
Without thinking I begin to sing,
Stopping in the middle as I begin crying.

The widow next to me notices' the tears,
And she softly pulls me out of my fears.
"Do not be afraid to tell,
Let the Lord save you from hell.
He was born on the night's eve,
To save us all from our own sinning.
He watches now, looking upon you,
Waiting to hear what you'll do."

I look into the widow's eyes,
I see the widow is very wise.
I walk forward to the front of the Church,
Bowing before the open Word upon the pedistal of birch.
I look on up to the Lord on High,
"Prayer to Him who was born tonight!
Save me from myself within,
O'Lord, my love to you is to begin.
Show me what is right and wrong,
Show me the way and guide me on.
You were born tonight for us,
To save us from our own distress.
Now I'm here to serve you alone,
Guide me on, show me home."

I no longer felt guilt and fear,
For the Lord was open and ready to hear.
The sinner in me is no more,
For now I serve the Lord.
Prayer to the Lord on High,
He who was born tonight!
He came to save us all from sin,
Pray and become his within.

The Lord loves all and knows you well,
He came for all this night on this night to quell,
All the sinful things we do.
So he can sop this evil brew.

Pray to the Lord on High,
For he was born to save us on this night.

Spoiler
Snow flakes falling gently
Drifting through the air
Children waiting Intently
For gifts and good cheer

Although All the gayness in town
Santa was in a rush
With children being put to bed
the whole town in a hush

He needed a miracle this very night
as he always years before
The schedule always very tight
sneaking through every door

laying down a small box
sure to bring good cheer
always stepping lightly
so no one could hear

He made it across the world that night
wishing on a star
knowing that he gave a gift
no matter who you are.
Sorry for The horribleness, I don't right very well.

I really suck at poems but here goes nothing:

Christmas time has finally come
Women sitting near the fire
Making presents for the little ones
Men brag about the years hunt
Boy's doing snowball fights
While girl's make snow angels
All the while waiting for the time
That Sainta will be here soon.

I know it doesn't sound like it goes together. But this is what I remeber as a child when most of my family members were still alive and there was no war. Please respect that.
