How many years have you participated in NaNoWriMo? 3;
The first year I dropped out after falling behind and suffering writer's block, the second year I finished and went over the 50k, this would be my third year.
I also participated in Camp NaNo in June and August. I flopped in June (Winds of Change) but hit the 50k in August. As I didn't actually finish the story in August, I am continuing that story for NaNo this month. Kinda need to play catch up though, I'm falling a bit behind.

How...
How in the heck did "torture a vampire" turn into "vampire/Nephilim porn"?

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
I'm finally reining all my elemental mages under control and getting control of my story. (It's a re-write of an existing story bu so many things are way different).
Just hit 14.6k, not quite at the 15k mark. I keep slipping behind or just making the word count for the day.
edit:(@ 11:09pm) Hit the 15k mark with 1 hour to spare.

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
Sorry, been kind of absent from this thread so far. Anyway, my novel's going pretty well. I fell behind about three days ago due to an unpleasant incident which made me utterly miserable but I managed to pull myself together and meet the goal every day since then. Hopefully I can close the gap and catch-up properly tonight.
Story-wise mine seems pretty slow so far but it's starting to pick up. I also had issues with changing tense but thankfully I managed to sort them. Usually I write in first person past tense (eg. 'I smiled, we went') but I decided to write this one as a dual narrative in first person present tense. Unfortunately it seems I slipped back into past tense with one of the narrators for a while there (without even noticing I add ) I never usually have any problems with tense so needless to say I found this pretty annoying

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
I've been falling behind due to puppy peril, but thankfully a friend has been helping me with word wars and I'm now just under 2k behind, which I'm sure I can make up today.
Question: Can anyone here do covers? I fail hard at them, mainly because I don't just want something with a random picture and simple text slapped on.

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
I am absolutely amazed at myself this year. This is the first year (in like 8 or 9) that I have yet to miss a day, or be behind at all! (yet) I'm actually about 2000 over WC goal (as of last night), and even though I keep running into massive road blocks, I'm averaging 2000 words a day!
My current road block?
What makes humans different from other sentient races, besides a lack of pointed ears and hygiene issues?
Originally, I was going to have it that only humans had the ability to choose whether to honor and worship their creator god, or not. But that was before I decided to add elves and dwarves and other races that I didn't want to all be lawful good, goody two shoes types.
So... do I let ALL sentient races have this ability and responsibility to choose?
Do humans just suck and not have an innate knowledge of their creator and so they have to learn about him before they can make that choice? while all the other races just KNOW, and so duh, why wouldn't they choose to?
Or, can they all choose, but there is something more to humans?
Do humans NEED to be so unique from other races?
GAH! I just don't know!
I can't do covers... I do line art of animals, and that's pretty much it.

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
No reason why humans have to be so special. How ordinary we are in comparison to all these high fantasy creatures is what makes us stand out.
Also, gratz!
Hit 20k but I'm still 16k behind uurrgh.

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
I finally decided that I was being silly and humans don't need to be anymore or less special than other sentient races.
Now I'm stuck with what do I use to weaken a fallen angel who's inhabiting a human body so that mortals can kill the body and another angel can defeat the demon.
I don't really care what the form of it is, sword/ book/ brick/ whatever, so much as what it IS, why it's in the mortal realm being guarded by heavenly creatures, and how it works/ what it does/ how it's used.
Something that isn't totally overused and cliche', or ridiculous. (trees, fruit, gems, swords, all overdone)
Despite that issue, I've managed to write over 31K already!
