Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
The only main problem I'm having is coming up with a better term than 'shaping' for the ability to manipulate elements (and 'bending' is kinda taken xD). Right I'm simply referring to them as 'mages' and what they can do as 'shaping'(i.e fire shaping, earth shaping etc...)
I should probably wrap up with fluffy romantic scene and get back to the actual main-main characters of the story.
Maybe drag the villain back in to plant some more seeds of doubt into the poor protagonist's mind.
Basically the main character lost his memory, remembering only his name and the fact that he can manipulate shadows/darkness. The latter of which is making him worry now because, in all stories evil comes from the darkness/darkness births evil and only evil can control darkness, making him think what if he was evil/a bad person prior to memory loss? He's already had one break down about this(and the hazy memory snippets aren't helping this at all).
Where as the antagonist has been shown to manipulate light which is inherently seen as good. Yet the guy is a complete psychopath having already killed several people(protagonist lost pretty much all his memory but retained his powers, antagonist got the opposite, kept his memories and lost most of his power, which he is none to happy about).
(Technically both of them are supposed to be neutral beings, but our light user went a little, crazy. Think like, Nightmare Moon, but in reverse where it was the sun who grew jealous of the night. Oddly enough, I came up with this concept before FiM started, I had been toying with the idea of light vs. dark only, opposite so the one who controlled the darkness was the good guy and the one controlling light was evil)

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
That actually sounds like fun.
Kinda reminds me of an RP character a friend had once. Very similar with light and dark- complete with controlling them as elements, and the darkness dude being the 'good' guy, and memory loss vs. power loss! The problem was, magic had gone boink, and two different people had ended up in one body. Every time he got knocked out, he shifted to the other one. We never finished playing out that plotline, but I believe the ultimate goal was to separate them again. But only the white- evil- dude knew that they needed separated.

Haha, nice.
I have a lot of fun writing the scenes with Aten(the villain), especially the most recent one where he pushed Daemon's(the protagonist with no memory) buttons into attacking him(or at least lashing out). He's such a cocky ass and relentlessly cruel, but that makes him even more fun to write.

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
I have barely more than 4500 words left to make NaNo for this year! I'm considering pushing myself to get to 100K. I'm going to really try for 75K I think.
Yesterday, I got my plot mostly hashed out- FINALLY! There's just a couple of continuity issues and holes now, and I'm sure I can get them straightened out by the time I get there.
Then, today I wrote up a list of all the characters and concepts and places since my plot mess was confusing to those who tried to read it because they had no idea what I was talking about.

LOL! Cute, Cass!
I seriously doubt I'm going to have 100K by the end, but I am managing to finagle at least 2500 words a day still. Finally getting some story. My pervy muse keeps making me write near porn!

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
My book is at over 62,000 words at this point, and it's still going. Hopefully I can finish it today. I have been editing it this whole time, too, so hopefully it won't take me long to get it totally perfect and ready to be published.
I have been writing this book for a whole year, and it was only 28,000 words long at the beginning of this month, and now it's almost done.
I have one other completed book, but it required so much plot-redesign that I'm not even sure how complete it really is right now. Thankfully, this one's different.
TNHawke, I have that problem as well sometimes. I felt so weird writing a sex scene in this book, because now I'm afraid to let my family read it. I wrote a sex scene for my other book as well, but I took it out, because it was mostly for myself. There's nothing wrong about sex scenes, or writing near-porn, even, in my opinion, as long as it's not as frequent as in Jean M Auel's Earth's Children series (because seriously, those books have so many sex scenes that I just skip those pages).

How many years have you participated in NaNoWriMo? My first year actually. I know I won't win, but I definitely plan on entering again. : )
As for Hawke, I like #1 and #3, in that order. XP I had a dream myself that I wish to get published, it's just taking a long time and motivation. >3>

Re: NaNoWriMo Club.
Well, I ended up with sort of doing Kestryle's story, but it's turned into something MUCH larger, and currently is being written from first person POV- from one of the bad guys!
I'm over 60K in, and only just getting started on the actual story, since I've got 50K of brainstorm. lol.
I'm definitely not going to make it to 100K this year. I probably won't even hit 75K. I might make it to 70K. Right now I'll be happy to continue just making 750 words a day, 1667 if I'm on a roll.
I'm all officially won though- Yay!
