In other news, we had our last performance of Out Town last night, and I'm feelin like I slayed it. I woke up this morning feeling like "Oh god, what do I do with my life now?"

In Massachusetts I can play the lottery (just won $100 on a scratch ticket last last ) and play slots at a casino.

Aww yay/darn! I feel that PSD (Post-Show Depression). Ours goes up in two and a half weeks (ish) but I have auditions for our second show in two days so I'm getting PUMPED.

EDIT: So our competition play got announced today and I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. We're doing a show called Still Life With Iris which is a children's drama that we're doing in steampunk style. It kind of reminds me of Spirited Away if anyone's ever seen that. I just don't know who I wanna play. Oh well. Auditions Wednesday, cast list Friday.

I've heard of Spirited Away. It's one of those Japanese animated movies right? I think I saw a little bit of it when I was a kid.

Uh, don't even talk to me about competition plays. Our competitive one act is Yellow Boat, which is basically a thirty minute play about a kid with hemophilia who gets AIDS due to several unknown blood transfusions and then dies at age seven. We did a read-through of the whole thing and I got a little teary-eyed. It was not .

Yes! And the little girl gets taken away to a magical land and shit. Basically, in our show, the land of Nocturno is where everything in the world is made. The little girl's (Iris's) mom is the Teacher of the Wind and her dad was the Day Breaker (he brought down the moon and raised the sun) before he went missing. The Great Goods are the rulers and they want the BEST of everything so they kidnap Iris and her mom. They take away their PastCoats (which hold all their memories) and make Iris their daughter. Then they make Miss Overlook (which is what they renamed Iris's mom) work for them as like a maid. Mr. Matternot is the one who had gone and stolen their coats. Basically, Iris has one memory, from one button. And she then has to use that to remember everything and save her mom. She does, of course and at the end you find out that Mr. Matternot is actually Iris's dad and he was missing because the Great Goods has stolen him away. It's literally so beautifully happy/sad. I cried at read through.

Your play sounds like sad sad though! If you got teary-eyes, I bet I would've BAWLED.

Thanks! And yes. I'm playing Iris's mom (I have some BRUTALLY SAD lines that really choked me up at read through). And my best friends are playing Iris, Mr. Matternot and His Most Excellent, the Great Grotto Good so I'm pretty pumped to get this shit going. But I mean, we still have to finish our musical.

I'm sorry I'm taking so long to respond. Our musical opens tomorrow and I'm applying to colleges next week so after that I should be a bit freer and be able to crank something out.
