Yeah, I kinda kicked Damien out of any actions for the time being.
The only one who can react at the moment are Vio and Carmine.

I will think of something better than to kick Damien to sleep.

I'm trying to figure out how to fast-forward it to a time where they might actually try using their new abilities.

Just get your parents to ground you, or more fun.
Get them to tell you that all the kids are sent for a camp for a week. Not camp as we know it, but a week of getting to know a profesion you might get as an adult.
Just note at the end of your post how much time we are skipping and start the post in the new timezone.
Do note that some of us might have some practice/scares with their skills.
Gives them something to talk about.

Engineering, hydrology, horticulture, architecture, neuroscience, theoretical physics, City Guard, robotics, manual labor, technological development, astronomy, history....uhhhh, stuff like that?

Creative writing is NOT a thing.
Biology, natural history, and bioengineering ARE a thing, but... the information in those classes is very... carefully controlled, seeing as it has to do with the beasts from the Lower World.
Basically, come up with something that sounds right. If it seems iffy, just ask me and I'll see if it fits in.
