General
Aethersharks are slow-growing and slow to breed. Although friendly as hatchlings, as adults they're usually found in small groups of only two to three individuals, or they stay alone. Either way, aethersharks respect the territory of other members of their species and of the other creatures that share the ocean with them. When entering another shark's territory, they will often give off flashes of blue light as both alert and as confirmation that they're only passing through and not looking for trouble. Their speed and electrifying ability mean that they're able to avoid most predators, or at least stun them long enough to escape.

Hatchling
Aethershark hatchlings do best in shallow waters, where they can lie on sand or rock and camouflage in the sun dappling through the water. As they grow, they need this camouflage less, but still prefer shallower waters that allow them to soak up the sun's rays. Hatchlings are generally docile but magi should still be cautious around them, as they have both sharp teeth and a painful tendency to whip things that annoy them with their long tails. They enjoy playing with other hatchling sharks and occasionally the hatchlings of other aquatic species.
Adult
An adult aethershark isn't a huge animal, but that doesn't mean they can't be dangerous if threatened. Fully-grown, an aethershark can absorb the light around it and expel this light in a burst of energy like lightning, and physically they have sharp teeth and the ability to stun with a smack of their long tails. They use the long tassels on their tails and fins to attract prey, which often doesn't see them lying unmoving in the shallow water until too late. At night their skin often takes on a cool blue glow, and they seem to enjoy storms, often breaching into the air when lightning is heavy in the sky.
