General
Hopizeryx make up for their small size by being adventurous, gregarious, and very very smelly. They use this stench to ward off predators, but a group of hopizeryx - especially with hatchlings and eggs - can make even the toughest magi's eyes water. They do best in warm environments and are found naturally in the jungles of Raza and Ixan. Explorers know when they've come across a hopizeryx colony - besides the smell - by their noisy, hoarse chatter, which can include groans, hisses, and surprisingly deep grunts.
Egg
This egg smells so bad no one can stand to be in the room with it for longer than a few seconds.
Hatchling
Hopizeryx hatchlings smell just as foul as their eggshells, but unfortunately they're quite mobile, with claws on their wings that allow them to climb just about anything. Small and agile, they pop up in the strangest places, though their stench usually serves as warning of their presence. Magi who wish to raise a hopizeryx quickly learn how to mute their sense of smell through physical or magical means, as hopizeryx hatchlings are quite friendly to anything that doesn't have too many teeth.
Adult
Adult hopizeryx have one major advantage in their quest to make friends: they can turn their smell off at will. Intelligent creatures, it doesn't take them long to realize that their magi won't cuddle them if they stink like manure. Hopizeryx are small enough to sit comfortably on a child's lap, and though they aren't very strong and can't fly far, the claws on both their feet and their wings enable them to quickly climb trees and move within the branches.
