General
Basjune are inveterate pranksters at heart, never malicious but with a penchant for tricks and thefts. Anything - or anyone - can be a target, but they're especially obsessed with things that move and dangle, to the consternation of any knitters, stitchers, and people who haven't gotten around to removing loose thread from their clothing. Usually the only sign a basjune has been in your closet is the banana peels left behind - and, of course, the empty hooks and hangers. While they hoard a lot of their loot, basjune have been known to lay little traps, like weaving an entire room into a web of tightly knotted yarn.
Egg
Who dropped all these bananas into the stream?
Hatchling
The first sign of a hatching basjune is that its egg starts wiggling. The second is when the hatchling explodes from the peels of its shell and immediately starts looking for something to play with. Wise magi usually set something small, like a broken brush or an old rag, near an almost ripe egg for the basjune hatchling to latch onto. Anything too fragile will likely be destroyed as the hatchling plays with it and carries it around. Basjune are pranksters right from the beginning and will leave shedded banana peels from their tails lying all over the floor as soon as they're ripe enough. They also enjoy hiding in dark corners and leaping out at anyone or anything passing by.
Adult
Basjune aren't large creatures but between stealing everything that isn't nailed down to add to their hoard and leaving banana peels all over the floor, they make a big impact on Keep life. Fortunately they're good parents and get along well with other basjune, so tired magi can lock them all in a safe - and mostly empty - room for a while to play together. Other magi have gotten into the habit of leaving out decoy clothing or boxes that basjune can happily destroy or squirrel away. Basjune are generally banned from the Keep but magi - especially those of a more mischievous nature - sneak them in anyway. Their discarded banana peels are usually thrown away, but occasionally used to make... interesting edibles.
