General
Thorn imps live the entirety of their lives in rose bushes, only leaving if the bush dies, quickly searching for a new one to make their nests in. They are active during the evening and night, sleeping throughout the day. The imps magically enchant the bushes to keep them blooming all year round, at the same time feeding on the rose petals. The adults are very territorial, not willing to share their homes with imps that are not related. This results in a large family sharing one nest, making the rose buses look more thorny than flowery. They protect their nests from insects, creatures, and even people with their sharp thorns, stinging everyone they don't consider friendly. Despite their unwillingness to share their nests with the other imp types, both thorn imps like to work together and find new ways of antagonizing the rose imps. Most of their pranks are harmless, and they enjoy themselves greatly even if they know the rose imps will pay them back sooner or later.
Egg
Sharp thorns emerge from this egg.
Hatchling
Small as they are, it's easy to miss the thorn imp hatchlings. They are speedy on their six limbs as they climb up and down on the stems, watching while hidden behind roses. They are harmless if not disturbed, but they like to bite anything that is not a related thorn imp. They have limitless energy, and those who raise thorn imps should not bother them too much - unless they want to have small flowers blooming at the end of their hair as a prank from the disturbed hatchlings. Unlike other hatchlings, the thorn imps are content with staying inside their nests. It is rare for a hatchling to venture out of its rose bush and into another. The hatchling should be found and moved immediately from the nest, as it risks mistreatment for intruding from other thorn imp families.
Adult
The easiest way to befriend a thorn imp is to offer it a magically enchanted rosebud. If they consume the rosebud in a matter of seconds, then the person offering the flower is considered a friend. The adults are rarely picky, but it doesn't mean they won't sting someone if they find the rosebud unfitting. Despite their thorns, these small draconians are friendly, gladly helping magi most inclined to earth and life magic. They have an eye for esthetics and frequently visit the Keep's gardens to bloom roses that aren't supposed to bloom for at least a few months. The imps love to change the colors of flowers or to enlarge them - mainly so they have more to eat. They refrain from damaging the rose bushes, though, magically regrowing everything they eat before they return to their nests.
