An adult adunatonsus is obviously too hefty to fly given the size of its wings, but that doesn't seem to stop them from floating by overhead. They never really seem to flap their wings, leading to speculation that it's magic keeping them aloft, and the wings are just decorative. While they spend a lot of time on the ground, searching for food, they can also be found in treetops and on top of roofs, sunning themselves. Adult adunatonsus are good parents and provide well for their hatchlings, often living in family groups and socializing well with other creatures. However, magi should keep their money as hidden as possible, as adunatonsus have been known to eat shiny coins, only to throw them up later.
Adunatonsus are peculiar creatures thought to be created when a magi cursed with literal speech made a sarcastic remark in response to an impossible question. A group of adunatonsus are known as a drift, for obvious reasons; self-sufficient and generally self-contained, they idle through life looking for food, mud wallows, and something to get that itch that always seems to appear just between their shoulder blades. Despite this general lazy air, adunatonsus are quite intelligent and shouldn't be underestimated. They're adept at problem-solving and only seem to get better at it the more impossible the action.
