Male Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Chiolin
Birthday: Friday, January 3, 2020
Owner: Baikala
Element: Neutral
A hatchling chiolin can, with enough time and patience spent on it, learn to be friendly, if not particularly affectionate. They can be raised with arkai hatchlings but should be separated once they all reach adulthood. Chiolin hatchlings are attracted to light of all kinds and need to be watched to ensure that they don't get too close to fires. Magi are encouraged to dance with their hatchling to build a bond with it, and also because it's highly entertaining to have a hatchling mimicking magi dance moves.
Chiolin appear only once a year, during end of year festivities where arkai are present. Attracted to the firelights that arkai produce during their mating dances, chiolin often leave their own eggs behind when they depart in the morning - in an arkai nest, if possible. Although beautiful, chiolin tend to be standoffish and can deliver a nasty peck with their long beaks. They also seem to enjoy attempting to outdance arkai, though they can't breed with the other birds.
