Your seedling has grown into a pitcher plant of some kind. Based on weeks of searching through the library, you have identified it as a hooded sliphaeren, a delicate species from the Jungle of Raza that often grows at the base of fruit trees. According to the books, this species is much like other pitcher plants, attracting small insects to its cup-shaped leaves with the smell of nectar. The insects become trapped in fluids in the pitcher and are digested to provide the plant essential nutrients. However, your particular plant seems a little odd. It took you a long time to identify because nothing in the tomes you've poured over mention sliphaerens having legs. It disguises them well, but you've seen your plant adjusting its seat, and you sometimes find little dirt-covered footprints leading to and from its pot. It has a mouth too, which it hides inside the pitcher. It opens up a toothy maw to snap up the insects you feed it. None of the books mention any pitcher plant having teeth either. When it's dormant, it looks and acts just like a hooded sliphaeren, so you can't imagine what else it could possibly be. It seems to be growing rather quickly.

Sometimes travelers bring back mementos from the depths of the forest to show to the people back home. The Naga warn against disturbing even the smallest rocks, as the Forest of Raza hides dangers that even those who have lived there their whole lives have never seen. It is best to only return with something you are specifically looking for, that you know how to identify. Travelers have been known to pick up a seemingly harmless flower or leaf on a whim. Some suffer no ill harm and end up with a small but insignificant treasure that ends up gathering dust on a shelf somewhere. Others return with something sinister in their travel packs, if they ever return at all. It is said that the forest is generous, but it isn't fond of those who take from it what they do not need...
