Female Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Philia Dove
Birthday: Monday, February 14, 2022
Owner: Gruffin
Element: Neutral
Newly hatched philia doves are small and demanding, needing to be fed many times a day, and growing lonely and dejected if left alone for too long. Caring for one is hard work, but after two weeks, hatchlings are able to fend for themselves, finding seeds and catching bugs, forming small flocks to play with each other. Those who have raised philia dove hatchlings feel it is time well spent, as the birds exude an aura of calm and contentment, and this soothing environment often leads to great productivity in all their other endeavors.
In times of extended hardship and strife, philia doves are not only a welcome sight, but somehow become more plentiful as well. Philia doves bring a dose of love and hope to anyone they are near. Individuals who are visited by philia doves usually find themselves feeling more fulfilled and at peace with themselves, and in turn, better able to love and support the people close to them. Some scholars suspect that philia doves are not merely magical creatures, but spirits that are brought into being by peoples’ earnest desire for peace and love. This would account for their population patterns, but philia doves nest and raise hatchlings the same way any other birds do. Philia doves mate for life, and young doves often stay with their parents and help care for their siblings for a few years before starting a family of their own.
