Moseal hatchlings are adorable creatures. They flop on their bellies, enjoying the sunny days, cheerful toots coming from their trunks. Although herbivores, the hatchlings like to hunt for crabs or frogs, picking them up with their trunks and swinging them in the air like toys. Once they are done playing, the hatchlings move on to eating or napping, leaving the now dazed creatures be. When napping, the hatchlings pile on top of each other as a form of expressing their love. It is said these creatures learn about love and happiness from humans even if they show forms of these emotions before having met any people. They are compassionate towards everyone, ready to cheer up those who have a bad day with a cup of honey tea or sweet milk.

Moseals are peaceful beings, although massive. These creatures are the subject of debate between scholars, as they are known to live on land as well as in the water. Some consider them to be land creatures, while others argue they are aquatic. At first glance, the moseals appear to have no magic of their own. However, that is not the case; they have some control over water. If given some water, the moseals can turn it into any other liquid, be it milk, fresh orange juice, or even poison or acid. The moseals are easy to train. They are eager to learn about humans and other creatures in general. Even if they move rather slowly, their ability to turn water into liquid food makes them invaluable companions on long trips. When not accompanying magis on different travels, the moseals spend their time near bodies of water. Those who wish to interact with them can feed the moseals leaves or grass. They are constantly hungry and accept the grass they receive, even if it is gathered just a few feet away from where they are laying their heavy bodies.
