Male Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Cordyceps Guardian
Birthday: Thursday, October 31, 2024
Owner: PigeonPun
Element: Neutral
While fierce as adults, Cordyceps Guardian hatchlings are somewhat clumsy. The fungal tubules on their bodies have not fully grown, and the hatchlings spend much of their time eating plants or laying in comfy piles of dirt, as if encouraging the fungus in their fur to grow. Nothing will make a hatchling happier than being given something to protect. Unlike adults, however, hatchlings seem to prefer fresh new plants, and will often be found collecting flowers.
Deep in the heart of Silva Forest, there is a fungal organism that stretches for miles and miles. It is the largest living thing that any magi has discovered. And this enormous mushroom has only achieved its stunning size due to the fierce, noble protectors that roam that part of the forest, the Cordyceps Guardian. Three times as tall as a man, these fierce beasts were thought to be a myth, with fur run through with fungal spores and tubules. It is only when the autumn season rolls around and the guardians emerge from the depth of the forest to spread the fungal spores that it can be seen. And when they do emerge, they not only spread spores, but distribute their eggs, which will hatch into more guardians. Magi think that both beast and mushroom are spreading themselves, the mushroom to spread more copies of itself and the guardians to make sure that the new mushrooms will be protected by their progeny.
