Seleu kirin hatchlings are most active during moonlit nights when they gather to stare into the sky and bathe in the moonlight. During the days the seleu kirin hatchlings are nowhere to be seen. They leave no marks on the ground and finding one without the creature wanting it is impossible. Separation from the seleu kirin hatchling causes melancholy and anxiety and owners of young seleu kirin fawns who have not yet learned to control their power can spend the whole day looking for their companion and forget everything else.
The vast Etain desert, with scorching days and nights filled with cool greyness, holds many wonders even the magi have yet to witness. The legends among the locals tell of magnificent creatures only seen during the hottest hours of the day and the coolest hours of the night, with skin the colour of the sun and mane and tail woven from rays of moonlight. The story goes that those who have seen the creatures describe an encompassing serenity, a calmness that befalls anyone who lays eyes on one of the beasts. Such is the power of these creatures, however, that upon losing sight of them the gazer slowly starts to despair, longing for just one more glimpse of the animal until the desire grows too strong and the people venture into the desert in search of the kirins.
