Frozen Male Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Foenaran Runner
Birthday: Wednesday, July 1, 2015
Owner: Rosehill
Element: Fire
Foenaran runner hatchlings are able to run almost as soon as they hatch, although they're often clumsy on their long legs. Their feathers are much softer as hatchlings than as adults and when hatchlings crouch down to cover and warm their feet, their puffed-out appearance has led to the nickname of 'puffballs'. Runner hatchlings are energetic and love to run, jump, and dance, especially if their magi tries to chase them down. Even as hatchlings, Foenaran runners have powerful legs with sharp claws, and magi should be careful to avoid injury when their hatchlings are playing and kicking.
Known for their great speed, Foenaran runners are the messengers of the magi world. Easily the size of the average person, runners are energetic, wild, and hyperactive, barely resting in between bouts of running and kicking. Along with their speed and the males' ability to set themselves on fire, they are also able to shake their stiff feathers with a sound like a rattlesnake, a warning to any predator that approaches them or their nests. Males and females differ in colour, but both have long, powerful legs with massive claws and thick, heavily muscled tails that they can use like whips. They are native to the grasslands and friendly with others of their kind, leading to great games of run and chase across the plains.
