Male Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Ixan Capybara
Birthday: Sunday, August 16, 2015
Owner: crystalwings
Element: Neutral
As hatchlings, Ixan capybara are active and hard to contain. They wander around with the curiosity of a cat, poking their noses into flowers and beehives alike. It is only around water they become skittish; their main predators are large water snakes. Ixan capybara hatchlings stick close to their mothers, who know best how to spot dangerous waters.
The semiacquatic Ixan capybara, native to Tetzcotal and the Candle Archipelagos, is a quite docile creature. Indeed, they never seem to mind it when the calaveras monkeys or other small creatures hitch a ride on them. Their gentle and tolerant nature makes them a favorite among children, as does their willingness to take small children for rides. Despite this, Ixan capybara are actually quite alert, especially females with young. Ixan capybara are prey to many creatures, including the large snakes of the jungle. At the Keep, they are quite well liked and can readily be trained as pack animals for those magi travelling through the jungle. They must be kept away from the gardens, though, or they may munch their way through the harvest.
