As an adult, your pacis moebian fox has somewhat outgrown its urge to dig. The ruff around its neck has grown and the thick fur makes it look bulkier than it is. The fox feels cool to the touch, even when you bury your hand in its fur and touch its skin. It's not uncomfortably cool, though, and others have assured you that this is normal for these animals and no cause for concern. Whenever one of your other creatures is sick or injured, your fox is making a fuss over it, snuggling and licking it as if trying to give it comfort. Surprisingly enough, even your most ferocious creatures meekly accept its attention. While moebian foxes have no known healing powers, some healers claim that it helps keep the fever down by cooling the sick creature's body with its own.

Moebian foxes are among the most intelligent creatures in the Keep. They are very quick to learn, picking up new commands and tricks within minutes. That also goes for things they are not supposed to know, and thus food has to be stored outside their reach as they will quickly figure out how to get to it just by watching their magi. Pacis moebian foxes grow to be about thirty years old, give or take a few years. Once at this age, they will just disappear one day. A few days later, a bellon moebian fox will show up at the doorstep. It will answer to the same name, know the same tricks and know its way around the home, just like the fox that vanished. The assumption is, of course, that the fox got reborn as its equal and opposite. However, no one has ever watched the actual rebirth and a fox dying a violent death will not return. Some people claim that the same moebian fox has been in their family for centuries, going through the cycle repeatedly. Since the rebirth usually takes place during the winter months, moebian foxes are seen as symbols for the new year by many.
