Frozen Female Hatchling
Name: unnamed
Species: Sarx Cipetir
Birthday: Tuesday, January 31, 2017
Owner: Rosehill
Element: Life
Sarx cipetir hatch small but grow quickly, often begging for food when only a day or two old. Nests are usually found in the hollow of a tree but it takes a magi with a lot of courage - or at least a dull sense of smell - to find one: sarx nests are purposely kept disgustingly smelly by the parents. Sarx cipetir families are small and not as social as their cousins, usually consisting of just the parents and the current hatchling. Hatchlings begin to eat carrion almost immediately, and nests are often full of bones that the hatchlings arrange in intricate patterns - which some magi say can be read to tell the future, if the reader has the knowledge.
Although not as large as its Alasrean cousin, the sarx cipetir is still a formidable bird, using its wingspan and bright colours to warn off any potential predators. Found mostly in the Razan jungle, sarx cipetir can often be spotted winging high above marshy areas, searching for the carrion they mostly subsist off of. Sarx cipetir and their larger cousins, the Alasrean cipetir, play an important role in cleaning bones, and magi who use bones in their magic often have a cipetir or two as a companion. When not flying or cleaning bones, sarx cipetir are often found perched in high trees, observing the jungle life around them.
