With its large size and bright colours, the sarx cipetir is a flashy sight and can be intimidating with its large, powerful bill. Fortunately they're generally gentle and intelligent birds who understand the relevant weaknesses of human magi, though they do seem to enjoy startling those who aren't paying attention. Their bright, naked heads are thought to help keep the sarx clean when feeding off carrion, and may also be a warning to predators. Sarx cipetir mate for life and are conscientious parents to their chicks, but prefer to guard their nests instead of brood over them. Adult sarx are occasionally brought into sick rooms in the belief that they can help heal and ward off diseases, but this seems to be a controversial practice given their diet.
Although not as large as its Alasrean cousin, the sarx cipetir is still a formidable bird, using its wingspan and bright colours to warn off any potential predators. Found mostly in the Razan jungle, sarx cipetir can often be spotted winging high above marshy areas, searching for the carrion they mostly subsist off of. Sarx cipetir and their larger cousins, the Alasrean cipetir, play an important role in cleaning bones, and magi who use bones in their magic often have a cipetir or two as a companion. When not flying or cleaning bones, sarx cipetir are often found perched in high trees, observing the jungle life around them.
