i guess it is a 50/50. I mean I'm not obsessed with him and I don't hate his guts. I agree with Piney, he is a person. Imagine if you got the one thing you always wanted, then either everyone hated you or everyone wanted you to marry them. You would want that like 2 percent of people that really don't care if you exist or not, where they think you're a normal person. If I was famous I'd want people to think of me as a person and not have people want to be friends with me just because I'm famous.

It takes GUTS to get up and sing like that. Just because he sings like a girl doesn't mean he's a bad singer. There are a lot of girl singers that sing really well.

I don't like his music, I don't like his voice, I don't like his style, I don't like his rabid fans, but I respect him as a musician, and it makes me sick to read about all these people who would kill him if they got the chance. He never did anything other than do what he loves, and that's to sing, and people want to kill him for that. Doesn't that seem wrong to you?
Don't like his songs? Don't listen to them.
Don't like him? Don't watch/listen to stuff with him in it.
It's common sense!

In short, leave the kid alone. He doesn't deserve all this hate.

I hate his music.

But I also really hate the bandwagoners who jump onto the "hate" bandwagon. It's not COOL to hate him, as so many people seem to think. Those dumb "If JB jumped off a cliff, 90% of girls would cry. Put this in your sig if you're the 10% who pushed him" things are immature and stupid and so old. They're not clever, only annoying and dumb. I am so sick of seeing them. People need to grow up. And on a side note, a lot of the times, the grammar is really bad in those.

The "haters" who can't present valid reasons to dislike him are just as bad as the obsessive Beliebers. The ones who say "HE IS A GIRL!!1! AND HE IS GAY!!!" are as annoying as "OMG I LOOOVE JB AM IM GUNNA MARRRY HIM". "Gay" shouldn't be used as an insult, because that just shows ignorance on your part if you say it.

*I* personally dislike him because first of all, his voice is feminine. I don't like male singers who don't sound like... males. Whenever I heard Justin Bieber, I honestly thought that it was a girl singing (I don't know his voice well enough to identify between JB and an actual girl >>). I like men to be... well, manly. Obviously, he can't help his voice, but that doesn't mean I'm going to make excuses for him.

Then his actual music lyrics are shallow and dumb. He had his first love with he was thirteen. He saw her on the playground at school. Oh, my! What an insightful song, indeed! His songs are about tween angst and "love". Clearly, they are directed towards young girls, who lap up that stuff like water, but I hate it. Most of today's mainstream pop music is like that--shallow, meaningless music about either a) teen love, b) partying, or c) sex.

I've posted on other forums about JB, and the Beliebers always seem to present the same defense: "His song 'Pray' is not shallow at all!'" Cool. That one song, Pray, has some meaning. What about his other songs? You can't deny the fact that he has sung about nothings. Even if he starts singing more meaningful songs in the future, I don't think he will ever have my full respect because of these songs. What he's singing about is what mainstream is all about. And it's an easy ride to fame compared to other genres of music. He took the easy way out.

And taking it away from music, I also don't agree with his views on a lot of social issues. To him, abortion is "killing babies." To me, abortion is the woman making her own choice for herself. And the US is apparently "evil" because he doesn't like our health care. I think universal health care is a step in the right direction for us. And yes, there are news articles online about the interview where Justin Bieber said these things.

I agree 100% with this. I wish all this hating of random pop stars would stop. No one is forcing you to listen to his music, so stop whining about it. You're not changing anyone's opinion of him. No one said this stuff about Jason Mraz or Rob Thomas (I'm not comparing the music, mind you) so why are we saying this kind of thing now?
