High-Roller gold sink

With all the other stuff getting talked about, I might as well toss this one out here too.

I'm proposing a "high roller" gold sink.
Something about equivalent to the Koi Pond in terms of various price options, success rates, and multiple creatures to have a chance at getting, but the prices are much higher.

Say something like
5,000 gold
15,000 gold
35,000 gold
80,000 gold
100,000 gold

As the tossing options.

Of course, for the "in-game" story, the gold could be a bribe to a dragon (or something else) to have a chance at going into its lair for an egg, where you could find one or not. For terms of this particular example, the egg could be some type of dragon, or oops - you grabbed some other type of egg, you came out empty handed, or the dragon showed no sign of letting you into its cave.

-Dragons were just the first typical "shiny-loving" creature I could think of.

This is an interesting idea...and I think it is about time we had a heftier gold sink for people who have breached 1M in gold. *cough*Iwantahighrollergoldsinktew*cough*

*drools* YES. I think dragons are a totally appropriate creature, and this would be a nice way to earn a "proper" dragon with regular gold. I think a "high-roller" gold sink like this would help suck more gold out of the economy, which would be nice.

I'm not a high roller and I would LOVE something like this. I spend hours playing with the koi pond simply because it's fun and there's a novelty to it --- will it give me an egg or is this another wasted trip? It would be interesting to see different gold sinks with different stories placed in other parts of the world.

I vote yes for the high roller gold sink. I'm a bit of a tight wad with gold, but this would be fun.

I broke the 1mil mark a couple months ago- and NOT by gold mining or selling donis. I would LOVE this idea- I would probably even try dipping into it more than just enough to get my own pair, I would work on acquiring pairs for others too, which would deplete my gold faster.

I would, however, recommend some differences compared to the koi pond- let it be truly random, not based on a time of day. I would probably go 'fishing' more often if I didn't have to try to remember the best times of day to do so. (which is why I haven't gone after any goldfish yet... )

I would also recommend there actually being a higher chance at gaining something by dishing out more gold. With the koi pond, when I DO remember to go fishing at the right time of day, I only ever toss in 15g at a time and hope.

With Kooshy's options above, say the 100k option had a 1:10 success chance, while the 5K had only a 1:50.

I love this idea! I'm not a "high-roller" by any stretch of the imagination, but I love the idea and think it would be a fantastic addition to the site.

I would agree with this, if for one thing.

You are GUARANTEED a creature after ~10 tosses.

I've gone through THOUSANDS of tosses on the Koi Pond before and never received an egg. Considering that would have forced me to dump at the minimum of 5 million on this gold dump, the only way I'd react positively to this is if you were guaranteed an egg by your 10th drop. (which, for 5,000, would be at 50,000 gold)

This sounds like a fun idea to me. My only concern, of course, is about the people who acquire gold slowly-saving up for a huge creature in the 100k range can take weeks to months for some. Having a chance of blowing all those savings on a big fat nothing would kind of...suck.

Then again, those people could always buy it from another user. I imagine the MD cost for such a creature would be pretty stable (as they would sell for however much gold on average they need to put in to get it). And people don't have to do it just because it's there.

So I'm totally for it.
