Re: Aria's Story
Chapter 79
“What do you mean by that, Eadelmarr?” Even though she doubts that whatever he says will be the truth, she cannot help her curiosity at what he has to say.
“Ha ha, going to listen to me, ay?” Blood splatters on the rocks near him as he coughs. “Many years ago I had a glimpse into the future, an evil and twisted future.” He takes a moment to catch his breath before continuing. “I had told Thane what I had seen, telling him that we need to train the young in how to fight this evil. Unfortunately he didn’t heed my words. He believed that when the time was right there would be those who would stand up and fight this evil. Frustrated, I decided to take things into my own hands. Asking for their forgiveness before hand, I caused an explosion within my own rooms within the Keep; which in turn caused the death of many of my companions.” Frowning he stares up at the sky. “For years I made plans in order to test the young, testing their hearts and their will. But many of them either were not powerful enough or let their powers easily corrupt them. I had nearly given up hope when I saw you with Utena. That’s when I did some research on you, and discovered your grandmother’s journal. After seeing your power that first time, and knowing your past, I had to see for myself if you were one of the young ones that I could entrust the future of our world to.” More blood splatters has he coughs again. “And I believe that my sacrifice is well worth it, now that I know you and your friends have the power to prevent that future.”
“How do I know you’re telling the truth?” Unknown to Aria, Varnis had followed her and was listening as well.
“Aria, if he was telling a lie, or hiding something I would have told you. I can find hidden things, which includes whether or not someone is hiding something.” Fiddling with the hem of his sleeves, he thinks hard and long about what he has just heard.
“Well then, is he lying?” Varnis looks up at her with a shocked look.
“Actually, he's telling the truth.” Violent coughs come from Eadelmarr once more, drawing their attention back to him.
“And alas it seems like my time among the living is drawing to a close. I bid you all a farewell and good luck in protecting the future.” Smiling he closes his eyes, his chest no longer moving for the need to breath.
“No! Curse it! I’m not going to let it end like this! You need to explain to everyone what you were really doing! I’m not going to let you die here like this you stupid magi!” Aria screams as she begins pushing and tossing the rocks and boulders out of her way. Varnis, seeing what Aria was doing, tried his best to help her but it seems that his help is of no use.

“So, this is what he had on him after you dug him out from underneath those rocks?” Thane asked Varnis, Aria and Drake. After returning from their battle against Eadelmarr all the magi who were in charge wrote their own report of the event. After reading these three’s report he called to speak with them. Now, before them on the table, was the diary of Eadelmar. The entries in it dated to just a few days before his vision to the day of the battle at Synara City.
“Yes, that is all that we found. So is what he said really true?” Drake asks Thane as he examines the diary once more.
“Everything he told you he explains in full detail in his diary. After using many and various powerful and complex spells I have finally discovered the truth. He was indeed telling the truth. He did all this, including killing many of his own magical companions, in order to ensure that this world will continue to have a peaceful future.”
Hearing this, Aria digs her nails into her own hand; her anger at her in ability to have seen the truth causing her to not realize what she was doing.
“Aria!” Varnis yells at her, snapping her out of the trance she put herself in. Grimacing she looks down at her hands and begins to cry.
“Excuse me Lord Thane, I’ll go to the infirmary to get these bandaged up and be right back.” Thane nods his head in understanding as she gets up and leaves. As she takes the stairs down to the ground level Kaze spots her and follows. Seeing her crying he wraps an arm around her to comfort her.
“I didn’t know anything, yet I came to hate him just like them.”
“No one is perfect Aria, not even Thane.” They stand there for a while; Aria letting her tears flow and Kaze trying to ease her sorrows.
“What do you mean by that, Eadelmarr?” Even though she doubts that whatever he says will be the truth, she cannot help her curiosity at what he has to say.

Re: Aria's Story
Surprise!!!
Here is the Epilogue!
A young girl with silvery-white hair and meadow green eyes pokes her head around the doorway leading into her parents’ room. Following her is her twin brother with coal black hair and sky blue eyes. The sister, the oldest of the twins, loved getting into trouble and kept her hair boyishly short. Her brother on the other hand tried to keep her out of trouble and keeps his long hair tied back in a braid. Today, however, they were both eager for their parents to wake up.
“I can’t wait anymore! Today we’re going to Thane’s Keep to visit all our magi aunts and uncles! I’m going to wake them up.” The girl whispers to her brother, who in turn grabs her arm as she marches into the room.
“You really shouldn’t do that! Remember when you did that to aunty Utena? She had you hanging in the air upside down for hours! Daddy or Mommy might do the same thing since aunty Utena taught Mommy.”
“Oh, quite being such a mouse and help me wake them up! Aunty Utena is already here anyways, and she doesn’t like it when Mommy and Daddy keep her waiting either.” Reluctantly her brother follows her to their parents’ bed. As they get ready to jump onto their parent’s, they are grabbed up into hugs by both of them.
“Now, haven’t we told you two before not to wake us up? We like to set traps like this to get you two when your guards are down!” Their mother proclaims as both her and their father begin tickling them. A few minutes later they are all out of breath from their tickle fight. And having become impatient their guests walk into their room; amused by what they have seen.
“Aria, you sure do love spending time with your family don’t you?” Aria’s former mentor Utena asks her as Aria hugs her children once more.
“Ha ha! I have to agree with you Utena. Look at them; they are one of the happiest families I’ve seen in ages. And all this is making up for what Aria and Kaze missed out on while they were growing up.” The other guest smiles at what he sees before him.
“Why thank you Eadelmarr, hearing that from you means a lot to us. Now, let’s get you two ready for your trip to the Keep. Thane will enjoy having you there, and you better listen to Utena and Eadelmarr, you hear?” Kaze smiles and winks at them, knowing full well they will cause trouble no matter what. Squealing with glee both children run from the room; soon to be followed by Utena, Eadelmarr, their father Kaze and their Mother Aria.

Did I ever say he was dead?Lunaheart wrote:Whoa wait! Eadelmarr is alive???!!! I thought he was dead! lol
This implies that he stopped breathing...ML1201 wrote: “And alas it seems like my time among the living is drawing to a close. I bid you all a farewell and good luck in protecting the future.” Smiling he closes his eyes, his chest no longer moving for the need to breath.
Varnis is a noble who is also a magi. And since he cannot use the power of the earth like Aria how is he supposed to be able to move boulders? And if you can get to the person in time you can resuscitate them. Or in this case, since Aria does know some healing magic since she is an earth magi, she is capable of resuscitating him.ML1201 wrote:Varnis, seeing what Aria was doing, tried his best to help her but it seems that his help is of no use.
I also never said who/what Thane used those spells on.ML1201 wrote: “Everything he told you he explains in full detail in his diary.
